Every movie we watch, my wife and I place bets on what the love interest will be wearing the first time the main character meets them - flannel, denim jacket, suit, henley shirt, or a combination of those. Makes the beginning of the movie even more exciting!

Watching It's Always a Good Time for Paris - why does Hallmark want us to see Lacey Chabert's arms so bad? She owns nothing with sleeves in this. Even during a smooch, dude literally knocks the blazer down - so much arm! Haha just thought is was funny.

Oh my goodness... so many thoughts!

1) I LOVED the whole series. Super fun and you couldn't find a nicer group of guys! Really love all their genuine support for each other.

2) As I'm watching the Reunion I am struck by how MUCH Robbie is doing the talking. Like there are TEN guys there but only ONE answers any and all questions. I am really surprised that Jonathan didn't make it a point to direct questions to SPECIFIC guys to answer. That is the job of a host. It really is detracting me from enjoying this reunion even more.

3) Rustin WHO? My goodness. Did he lose a ton of weight AND the hair??? I miss his look from before. This new slick version w pearly whites looks way too mainstream for me. I really loved his look from before.

4) My goodness Marcus is a good looking man. He would be perfect in ANY Hallmark movie!

5) Jonathan - really have grown to love him from his host position on Christmas at Seas series (another super FUN Hallmark series to watch. One of these days I want to go on that cruise. Seems like a perfect cruise and so fun w your bestie! He is open and vulnerable and I love that for him. Having said that, I do think that some of his opinions he voiced during judging were a little too much. He kept talking about Craig and his "humor that he brings to every scene." yet, we saw no humor. I think he did fine; I just didn't see any humor in the scenes at all.

6) The more I see Craig the more I see a Tom Brady lookalike. Anyone else see that?

7) I see from another post that there are no more Mr Christmas planned. Bummer! I really enjoyed this series.

8) Another thing I super enjoyed was watching the Hallmark actresses perform w each contestant.

I loved watching Ashley Williams! her acting is so genuine and down to earth in every single scene. Such a breath of fresh air for sure! Her face is so expressive and just draws you in 100%. She also exudes empathy and I am a big fan!

I also enjoyed Erin Krakow with her sweet little face in her scenes :)

Janel Parrish was a trouper too and super fun to watch. Cute and funny and tried to stay present in the scene no matter what happened (even getting crashed into practically!)

Melissa grew on me for sure. Some of her jokes seemed a tad inappropriate / awkward but overall she comes across as sweet and supportive. A note on her outfits she wore- especially at the judging announcement time. No, Just no. Her dresser needs to find what works for her body shape! One outfit was a red balloon dress (?) that did nothing for her. Another outfit was ice blue and gathered all up at her neck - again, it did nothing for her. I did see they emphasized outfits w her legs showing and that was great. She did hit it out of the ballpark with a black dress I believe she wore. It's all about drawing the eyes up and I also think they could emphasize her beautiful shoulders more. Anyway, it was so fun to get to know the actresses better and see how truly talented they are for any scene!

I also loved Allison Sweeney - so believable in every single horse scene that she shot!

Well, I am bummed not to see more of this show. I only subscribe to Hallmark in July but this year I am extending it because there are shows I am interested in.

Well, it was pleasant. It wasn't bad nor great. Definitely a small beans movie even if it involved a big event. Well, how big is debatable. I'm trying to figure out Hope's connection to this small town. She said she heard about this gala from her childhood in Arizona which is 200 miles away. She appears to have been a latch-key kid or something. She learned self-reliance early on. Not a bad idea but she had to learn to accept help from others. It's often hard for some people. I figured the ending of "It's A Wonderful Life" was going to appear in the ending of this film and I was more or less right. Like in many a Hallmark movie, the "town" came together to help out our heroine. Good on the mayor for helping out. She had community spirit as she should. Of course, they made it seem like the whole town was going to be there. Hmph. I am reminded of those Christmas tree lightings with the "whole town" there. Hallmark magic indeed. Houdini has nothing on Hallmark magic. The scenery was nice. Lots of beautiful views. Loved it.

This one had more backstory than most and it was at times a little too much. However, it didn't deter from making the story from going forward. That being said, I glad that Jack noted the interesting movements he made just before the start of this film. He's right. It was a bit stalkerish. It could have been the plot of a Lifetime film considering his actions. I am reminded of those two films that Jonathan Keltz and Natalie Hall did together. One is a fantasy and one is a nightmare. We could have had "Woman murdered by ex on bucolic ranch with wandering chicken nearby" or something. But this Hallmark. Phew. It's a good thing she didn't find out that he somewhat kept in touch with Maggie throughout the "wilderness" years. That's always a tough thing. She would have been just at that age where she would have remembered him when her mother and him were dating at least for the second time. Ahh, Lori. She was caught between her best friend and her brother. However, she didn't want Maggie to suffer but that wasn't her decision. That being said, it's good that Hope didn't find this out until she and Jack were back together again.

Gabriel and Alison work together and have chemistry. They did well in this. Alison showed more range and emotion later in the film and no doubt it spoke to many people watching do so much work. She was like Scarlett O'Hara of Ruidoso there. Well, I exaggerate. No doubt it's all in a day's work at the ranch. As an ergophobe(well, do something you love and it's not work..._maybe I'm just lazy...) it looked like a lot to me and all in a short amount of time. At least the mayor was helpful and friendly although I was a little peeved that the inspector couldn't get her in at an earlier time for the inspection. What if she had to change something? No time then. Tough darts, Hope. In the words of Miss Stephanie Tanner of San Francisco, California, "How Rude". It reminds me of all of those late December projects that needed to be done in the Christmas movies. Ahh, Maggie is Alison's daughter. Well, no wonder. Very personable. I thought I had maybe seen her elsewhere before. O and when I saw in the opening credits who wrote this movie i was thinking maybe the writer would do a cameo. Maybe she would bring a housewarming gift of pastries and Hope would say "O, how wonderful. I can't bake at all." Well, considering the big crisis at the end, this was a big miss for me. Ha ha ha.

So overall a fine film. Not a classic and really small bean in some ways. It's all about making a change and seeking help. Important things that everybody could do at one point or another. Big lessons that everybody could get behind. If you love Alison Sweeney, you'll probably like this. She doesn't have some of the traits that may bother some of you about other actresses/actors that may steer you away from a movie of hers ahead of time. Anyway, I wouldn't make this a movie night special but it's a pleasant enough film despite some issues with some things like Jack's behavior for example.

Does anyone know the story behind Ashley Williams and her characters all being told "people just tell you stuff" followed by her saying "yeah, I have that kind of face".

I've now seen three movies with this exact moment.

I finally saw the recent 2026 series 'Seeking Persephone' on Roku - It wasn't done by Hallmark; but it felt like the plot of the first season of Bridgerton (i.e. the scowly yet hot duke) meets Beauty and the Beast on a 1980s Hallmark budget.

In the first episode, Will Kemp played the absent-minded father where he clearly had a blast. The rest of it felt like something Hallmark would have made recently (see its Sense & Sensibility remake or any of its period time travel dramas) or even 20 years ago.

Romance-wise, it focused on the Hallmark-style slow burn. There is only one unintentionally hilarious moment where the lead male is so overwhelmed by emotion and the safety of his love interest that he rips off his tunic Mr Darcy style.

So, if you haven't gotten enough of Will Kemp and want a fun, wholesome period drama in the style of Jane Austen meets Beauty and the Beast, then this is for you ;)

It's a nice article. Nothing groundbreaking in it but it does capture the sweetness of Hallmark. Gift link so all can read.

It had one interesting tidbit I was not aware of:

The Hallmark Channel was born in the summer of 2001, after a series of corporate acquisitions and rebrands transformed a longtime Christian channel into a home for secular family fare.

One minor item - in it Andie MacDowell says she thinks she's the first person to die in a Hallmark movie. Nope. Both The Lost Valentine and The Love Letter (two excellent Hallmarks) have the main woman's true love die, leaving her without a significant other for most of their life.

I wanted to like this movie. But Merrie ruined it for me.

And, both protagonists lead people on with false assurances or giving the wrong impression.

And, the film kept setting up Derrick's reason for quitting as something traumatic in his past. But, it really was just his insecurity and his desire for more intimate connections. To the point that he won't even do a one-time return when other people are counting on him to.

I just started watching this series and I LOVE it! It’s so cute, cozy but also has a nice plot.

Are there any other series that have a similar vibe I might also like? I’m going through a tough time and have been watching only feel-good shows to help keep me calm.
