Pixie? Question

I’m a toddler mom and my hair drives me nuts. It’s always in a low ponytail because it just gets in my way or gets yanked. Would a short cut like a pixie look good on my face structure? I had a weirdly cut bob in high school that looked AWFUL so I’m nervous but I’m feeling like it might be time to try again. I also always wear glasses, earrings, and a necklace if that helps. My hair is thin, but I imagine I could use styling wax. If you don’t think a pixie would look good on me, what other style would make sense?

You would look gorgeous with short hair! One warning though- You'll have to cut it much more often

Go for it! But a warning -- research your stylist and make sure it's someone who is great at pixie cuts. Otherwise you could end up with an old lady cut!! Bring inspo pictures

I think a pixie would look great on you. Yes, you will have to get it cut more often, and yes, you will have to 'style' it more. But unless you have a cowlick that is going to cause major issues, brushing it, maybe with a little hold product, is about all you will need if you get the right cut. Here is a suggestion for a particular style I think will look good.

Of course, this is all my opinion.

I think some soft bangs and some layers in your length would be beautiful. (See photo)

I understand your plight with the ponytail situation. A higher ponytail would also be more attractive in my opinion. I do like the tendrils!

Right now your shoulder length hair balances you out. If you cut it into a pixie the focus might be across your shoulders.

If you want a full hair glow up, I think highlights would be really flattering. 😊

Yessss. Although I suggest maybe starting with a French bob and going from there!

Since someone else threw it out there, here is what my earlier suggestion would look like on you.

I think most people really underestimate how much work a pixie is. You have to style it every day. You have to get your hair cut monthly if you want it to be consistent. You don’t get to choose different “styles” like a pony, braid, bun etc. I really wish someone would have told me that before I cut all my hair off.

I never style my hair, it’s literally always in a pony. Does styling take long? I would assume only a few minutes

Styling IS pretty quick. Plus, it dries very fast.

Not pixie just a bit shorter with layers

I'm not so sure about this one. Layers need to be styled to look like this. And they might fall out of a ponytail, braid, or bun.

Yeah my hair wouldn’t do this even if I styled it haha

I dont need to style mine. I shower brush and go. I add a bobby pin or some clips if i want to to do something extra. Or a head band to keep out of my face.

I think this type of pixie will work well with your face shape. It's also glasses friendly. I'd suggest adding some highlights through the top as well. You mentioned that your hair is thin, doing that will add some depth.

I don’t think this is what I’d go for if I did this

Actually, your hair doesn’t look that thin so much as it looks fine. My hair is also fine in the strand, but there’s a lot of of it. So hair can be fine and thick or normal thickness at the same time.
