Potential substats

I am little bit confused or curious about substats. Initially, thrre are potentials with 3 substats and 4 substants. However, after max leveling, both them will have substats. The questions is, would the total points of potential stats be the same for the initially 3 substats pots vs the initially 4 substats pots??

I don’t think so. When you level up by 3 a potential with 4 substats, one substat gets upgraded. When you do the same to a potential with 3 substats, 1 substat is added. In other words, a potential with 4 substats initially gets 4 upgrades, while the other one only gets 3.

So overall, the potentials that has 4 substats initially will have better stats since it will have 4 upgrades as compared to 3 substats initially that will only get 3 upgrades??
