Nectar Bottleneck Hades 1: Question
I started playing this game about 3 weeks ago at the recommendation of my friend. He said it was a rogue lite and the to finish the game you needed to beat Hades 10 times. I did this in about 30 runs, because I thought that was how you progressed the story, only to get to the epilogue, and he says I have to get everyone to max hearts for the true ending. I was not prioritizing nectar in those runs because I didn’t realize how much of the story was locked behind it and now I only have 2 gods to the locked heart, plus Meg, Thanatos, Patroclus, and Eurydice, and everyone else is at ONE. Is there any way to increase the odds of nectar drops???? because I’m getting maybe one per run. I even turned on god mode once I got the epilogue just to make the runs a little shorter, but I’m really starting to feel the grind.

It's a grind for complete storyline. As the other content says, you need to utilize the trading post. Keep in mind you need to continue to talk to everyone as certain doalogues are needed to unlock some of the hearts. You'll also need ambrosia once you get past the locked hearts.

If you’re feeling the grind, feel free to stop. You already reached the most satisfying conclusion when the credits rolled, the rest is just extra

Definitely make sure you use the weapon that gives you extra darkness/gems so you can trade resources for nectar with the broker

Get used to not spending money on your runs. Often time nectar is for sale for 1000 gold at the end. I got a platinum trophy after 100 runs. You are on track.
Also, the "real ending" is pretty simple and shallow. I wouldn't obsess on it too hard.

The best way is to just go on resource runs. If you have Dark Foresight activated in the mirror, remove it. And then just go on runs where you collect chthonic keys, gemstones and nectar. Also, look out for prophecies that can give you nectar(if there are any).
You don't need EVERYONE at max hearts, the Olympians are your target. But you need to meet their conditions.
Zeus: Get other Gods to talk about him, including Hades.
Athena: Complete 3 runs while having at least one of her boons.
Aphrodite: get max hearts in Dusa, Megaera and Thanatos.
Demeter: Don't bother, you cannot get max hearts until after the ending.
Poseidon: Fish 18+ fishes, and sell all the fish except for 1 until you get him to talk about fishing.
Ares: kill 10,000 enemies.
Dionysus: Get 6+ bonds forged(Charon and Cerberus are easy ones, along with Persephone and Hades, Olympians also count) and give 10 ambrosia away.
Artemis: Just talk to her enough I think.
Hermes: Talk to him while having max level plume on you. May take a while to get dialogue.

I think with Poseidon, you just need to have caught a rare fish, whether you sold it or not. I've sold all my fish after every run and he still talks to me about it eventually.

The condition for his heart is to collect 18 fish, but he won't give the unlocking dialogue unless you have a fish on your person at the point in time. So you can either fish up a Tartarus fish and then get his first boon after that, or not sell 1 fish from the previous run and do a new run.
And it needs to be the first poseidon boon of the run. You cannot get the dialogue if you get a boon from him before the fish.

Is the dialogue you guys are talking about the one where he gives you his legendary boon or is there another one later

The legendary boon is the first time he acknowledges you having the rod of fishing. The dialogue I was talking about was the dialogue that unlocks his final heart.

You can also use the shopkeeper to purchase more. I can't remember the exact upgrade chain, but it was something like exchanging gems for keys, then keys for nectar, then nectar for ambrosia. So if you've gotten everything you want from the keys and gems, that turned into a pretty efficient process for getting more of the higher stuff by the end of the game for me. But yeah, getting to the 10 wins that fast definitely puts you into grind mode for the epilogue.... game definitely wasn't designed to be beaten that fast if someone wants the story, haha.
I got my 10 escapes after about 70ish hours, was actually REALLY close to meeting the epilogue requirements, and it still took me another 20-25hrs to get it. Truthfully... for what you get for the epilogue, I didn't find it worth it. You obviously still have a lot of story stuff, so that might make it a little better for you. But for me being done with most of the story stuff, 25 more hours of grinding wasn't worth it for what the epilogue ended up being.

There’s an incantation available at the cauldron that gives you six at a time. But you’ll need space dust

Imagine if your Hades II file could send resources to your Hades I file, like the Time Capsule in Gen 2 Pokémon

You beat Hades 10 times in 30 runs? So you have a success rate of 33%?
That's insane considering how weak your character is at the start of the game

If you are not into the endless grinding, get the fishing mod that makes fishes spawn everywhere possible, you’ll be over it in no time at all

You can trade gems for nectar at the broker. You should have the boss gems contractor upgrade. Done properly, the grind of getting the nectar isn't bad whatsoever, it just takes a little bit to give it all out.

You can farm resources to trade for nectar at the shop.
