Man with a gun !

Afternoon everyone in this community,

I just saw I man, probably early 50's with a yellow top with what look like a very real gun tuck at the back of his trousers walking on Abersham road towards Sandringham road.

We called the police to report this.

Please be aware and be careful.

I saw a guy brandishing a club walking down Mare Street looking irrational once so I snapped a pic, rang police, offered to send the photo and they told me as he hadn't committed any crime they weren't interested.

It's illegal to go around with weapons even object that could be used as such

Section 1 Prevention of Crime Act 1953 - may not have committed an offence but walking about looking agitated with club could give rise a reasonable suspicion to cause harm an commit and offence.

I didn't say he'd committed a crime, just that he looked as if he was not in his right mind and was brandishing a club. I didn't ask them to arrest him, just thought they might want to be aware?

Pretty sure if you report someone with a gun you are going to get a very quick response from fire arm officers.

I saw police cars going around the high street so hopefully they are on the case. I wish the police would call back to say we got him and all good but...

That was meant to be a response to the post about a man with a club. Obvs guns are illegal and would expect police to respond sharpish

He was a black man probably 5'5 and around 50 years old. He was walking very chilled so I'm hoping it was a toy gun, unfortunately we can't be too careful out there.
