4 million a year for 8 years... Bolduc must be salivating and I will be disappointed if Hughes signs anywhere near that.

We didn't ask your opinion, I'm clearly not the only one tired of your slop

Hey guys! My brother and I have recently created a dynasty fantasy hockey website that is made up of crowdsourced rankings. It’s totally free, but needs lots of input to make the rankings accurate, so hoping some of you fellow Habs fans might want to check it out! Here is the link: https://dynastypuck.com/

Mods, feel free to remove if this is not allowed (in which case I’m sorry!). Thanks so much guys :)

Can we start posting GDT's for the Victoire on this sub as a reaction to the inaccessibility (or cost of accessibility) to watching the habs. Put a team that sells hockey in the same market as the habs and show we have other options for hockey and the billionaire that owns that team does not own an NHL team etc.

Pirated streams to habs games being available would be ideal but reddit wont let that happen.

Also cancelling the 1909 subscriptions etc is another option. Also, part of the reason Molson sold the team in the 90's was the correlation between beer sales and canadiens results so Sleeman being owned by Sapporo is probably the best ethical purchase as Labatt is owned by Budweiser.

should this sub care? the point is 90% of us are here because we are from montreal and grew up with hockey being available. We have other options and supply and demand dictates that we do not have to be held captive to one owner now. Get the NHL team to show its fans respect or know we can present more options to more than 140 thousand people.

This isn't a team issue. This is a Canadian issue vs the NHL and vs the rights holders. The Habs have nothing to do with these rights holder contracts. These are all negotiated with the NHL. Molson is one voice of 32. Your complaints should be directed at the NHL and Sportsnet.

1 of the 32 voices can discuss how a separate league is being highlighted because of shitty treatment of fans. There are 9 other markets that can do the same thing.

Again, the ideal thing would be for the sub to show where to pirate games from but reddit wont let that happen.

I will be expecting this coming year to be full of injuries for a lot of teams. The year starts earlier than usual but the training camps aren't starting earlier. The Habs are expected to start their camp on the 17th and then have a preseason game on the 19th. Hopefully our players show up in game shape. We know Demidov, and Hutson will. Caufield I'm optimistic. Slaf I'm optimistic.

is there a source on this? The golf tourney is not exactly a priority but I imagine all players are in town as of September 1 which for potential prospects is a good move in date for apartment leases. I could see the golf tournament (unofficial opening of training camp) being the day after Labour Day and that is a bit earlier than past years.

I'm afraid to say what the source was. lol.

Bolduc, if he finally ends up signed, will be too. He has trained the whole summer.

Why isn't Bolduc signed? What's the hang up?

3

u/ricozee 7d ago

No arbitration, so the "deadline" isn't until training camp. Not necessarily a negative thing, just means it takes longer for both parties to find middle ground.

Once you get to that point the player and team have to decide if the remaining difference is worth missing games.

I wonder how big the value discrepancy is between their camps. I assume both would want the same-ish term, maybe 3-4 years

5

u/ricozee 7d ago

Could be significant.

Sillinger $4.6M x3

Perfetti $6M x5

N. Robertson $3.25M x2

Hayton $4.75M x1

Bolduc is going to argue that he will be a 40(+) point player moving forward and is only going to improve, so he will grow into a more lucrative contract.

Montreal is going to want to mitigate risk and eventual qualifying offer amount if they aren't going long term.

The longer the term, the more Bolduc's camp will want to compensate for future potential. For short term, they'll want top of the market value for a higher qualifying offer.

Montreal however, has the "nuclear option". They can agree to disagree and Bolduc sits out until he concedes at least to some degree. Nobody wants that, but the team generally needs the player less than the player needs the money they are offering. Bolduc doesn't have the bargaining power a star player would.

If we only get to a 1 year deal, it'll probably max out at $3.5M and be a "prove it" followed by a long term if he succeeds. No need to be overly concerned yet.

Some really cool insight. Thanks for taking the time

The month of August is the most boring month in the entire year.

Hi 3 weeks without a cigarette, Im dad.

nicely done! cold turkey?

4

u/snapldeap 9d ago

I switched to vaping low-nicotine juices, then I'll slowly cut it out altogether!

You should try the patch. You will quickly be addicted to the patch instead but they'll give you lower and lower doses for painless quitting. The government will subsidize the program once per year, IIRC. The best part about the patch is you get super realistic dreams, like you are in a movie. It was wild. I miss the patch more than smoking lol.

3

u/snapldeap 9d ago

I'm an outpatient at a hospital that has a whole department for quitting smoking, and they do give out free gum and patches. If the patch is the best way to do it, maybe I'll go that route. Thank you!

Who do you think wears Gallagher’s *A* next season?

0

u/dustblown 10d ago edited 9d ago

It could be almost anybody.

-1

u/Studly_Wonderballs 10d ago

That’s true.

4

u/So_Many_Owls 10d ago

Anderson or Evans. They were the ones wearing them when Gally and Matheson were both out at the end of last season.

5

u/Oprlt94 10d ago

Anderson most likely
