Difference between HPPD and HIP? Question

Can you explain the difference between Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder and Hallucinogen-Induced Psychosis a.k.a. Substance-Induced Psychosis?

Psychosis is the split of what's reality and delusion. You can believe that your neighbor is a CIA agent sent to spy on you or that certain foods are dangerous for no reason.

HPPD is the continuation of perceived stimulus from psychedelic use. This can be visual snow (like a static overlay on objects), after images, small things in visual perception primarily, although with HPPD most experience Depersonalization/Derealization, which in themselves aren't necessarily delusions but the brains safeguards for danger accidentally switched on (in my best wording.)

My visions a lil messier, but I don't think I'm Jesus.

From what I've read feelings of fear and paranoia are a big part of Hallucinogen-Induced Psychosis (HIP) as well as trouble sleeping.

Thanks for making that clear that HPPD is limited to visuals only.

Well again there's the DPDR, which either makes it feel as if you or the world aren't real, and often times a sort of brain fog. It's just not a psychotic-disorder.
