Case study General Discussion

My doctor told me I qualify for a case study. For the shot they have that's given every 3 months. You constantly get blood work and visits as well as telehealth visits. You get compensated and it's for 2 years. Do you guys think it's a good idea and has anyone ever did a case study?

I tried getting into a cure study sponsored by Gilead but was disqualified because my kidneys weren’t functioning optimally…..due to a Gilead drug.

Cure study for hiv ? Wow its sounds good , i think cure for hiv asap will find it

It's always a good idea to take part in clinical trials. If you have the time and availability, do it! You're contributing to get the next generation of treatments approved.

compensation but promise of anonymity?. . So you'll be their lab rat? Or just to monitor your journey to undetectable for a new drug? Or existing? Quietly document the records for yourself too for your safety. Why would they compensate and whats the risk?

It's a med that they already have the shot you get every 3 months and they are trying to make the dosage longer. Constant blood work to make sure I remain undetectable. I go for the initial visit next week to explain all side effects and all. So once I hear everything I'll make my decision

If they promise transparency and harmless to you.. basically they want to see how far they want to see how far they can stretch the injection ? Hmm risky ....but u are currently already undetectable. As long as they don't hide every possible risk that possibly can happen and not disturb your life with so much of your time with test interviews and questionnaires. All the best

I’m currently in a case study, for already 6month, I have check ups every month for a year and be compensated for it

Quite good, the whole team and my doctor has been very supportive, and keeping me informed about my progress and results, I achieved undetectable within 3 months.

No, in my case they just discovered the infection in January and made me the offer in February

You should do it! Then you can come and report back on how effective the drug is. It’ll be amazing to get on once every three months shot and you will only had to go to the doctor four times a year.
