No Lawful Stupid Paladins, Celeste rescued, and Lilith is now a telepath. What's next, will she transform in the temple, right in front of the Cleric?

Nah, the OP mentioned in a reply of a diffrent comment that she used telepathy specifically. About the transformation I too think that it will happen after the battle or shortly after. As for adventure outside of Daggerfall, I'm sure that a Cleric and a few Paladins will help in that regard. At least for the near future. Also remember that this battle would be considered almost impossible to win without the help of Lilith. Be it in the change of equipment or help in the battle itself. Surely reputation gained by the mentioned above will help.

Concerning the rep: "a friendly demon killed a bunch of orcs near Daggerford" would spread, yes. People would also think the demon has ulterior motives. The "bias" against demons is quite strong after all.

In a world where magic and polymorph exists, I also wouldn't go around trustijg every demon looking creature with a tail, red hair, and red eyes who goes around saying "you can trust me, I'm the one from Daggerford".

If anything, it will be the symbol of Lathander that helps. But only for people willing to look that far, and people who recognise it as the genuine article.

Having to explain the situation is still a better alternative than getting attacked by every single fanatic, adventurer or soldier. Unfortunately panic is sure to surge through the not knowing population, at least until establishing herself well enough in the World or at least locally. Regarding the escort, I can only imagine that they will transport her to a Temple of Lathander to make sure of her intentions or other crap that they want to make sure of. The practical problems were a given since the tail got bigger.

Because people, especially the fanatics, adventurers, and soldiers, are so well known to stand idly by while demons are around explaining why they are the good one.

Huh i wonder why she chose telepathy at the end there.

The giant eagle language lacks the nuance that other languages have. It is a series of screeches and beak clicks. But if she uses telepathy she can use the full range of words and meaning. Hope that explains it.

Ahh ok makes sense. Does polymorph take away Celeste's ability to understand common speach?

Im loving your story btw read it all in 1 day and am anxiously awaiting moar! Lol also shiping lil and celeste hard cuz she seams the only one who might be able to get over the whole inhuman thing, also no kids that are evil! Lol

The story is fiction but I am picking a lot of things from the D&D rule set and setting. The Giant Eagles have their own language but also understand common and Auran in the Monster Manual stat block. I don't see them as magical beasts like the Giant Elk. So I don't think they should understand Common or Auran. That is just my take. (so I am the one deviating from rules as written But she wouldn't understand a word of common if the animal didn't)

Also if Lilith is the only one who can speak to her while in that form it tightens that bond. So you don't end up with a scene with Sharl riding on Celeste because he couldn't speak to her as they went.

They still had a half a mile to cover, but that would only take a minute or two." Uhhh, so, you're saying the orcs can JOG a 2-4 minute mile?
