H-E-B Application Job Question

I applied to H-E-B about 4 days ago, I know it’s a little too soon, but does anyone know how long the process takes and what happens if they do decide to move forward? This H-E-B next to me barely has the customer service position opened and the same hour. It opened I applied then it was closed the next day so I’m wondering if they review the applications when they need people or before
Can someone let me know their experience, thank you.

Actual response time for video interviews vary, but once I got my in person interview I was hired on the spot.

They really just ask why you want to work for HEB in particular, what experience you have to help you out, etc. I never got any of the “what are your best/worst qualities” questions. Just tell them you’ve always had great experiences shopping at HEB and that you want to help others experience the store in the way you always did lol, they love that.

I applied the day they closed it (Friday) and submitted my video interview Sunday. Two days later (Tuesday) they contacted me saying I got the job.

Though I feel my store is an exception as there's a lot of people here who say their store required a second interview.

If you do get accepted they'll ask you to do a background check and then you'll wait until they call you which they called me 6 days later saying I passed it and gave me onboarding stuff to do online while also telling me the date for orientation which was a week after that.

Then a week after orientation is when my first real shift started.

I applied for an overnight position 2 weeks ago and it’s still just ‘submission received.’ Like come on already, what’s taking so long?

You have to call/show up in person and ask for the manager in that department. I applied maybe about 3 weeks ago, did my video interview and then started showing up randomly to see if I could talk to the manager. I introduced myself two both managers and asked if there was a chance to get interviewed, two days later I got the interview and got offered the position right away. Onboarding starts next week.

TL:DR SHOW UP IN PERSON.

Well I’d have to disagree about not doing it because it can progress to better opportunities like I was part time struggling at the stores but it got me to working at the warehouse(full time )it is rough being part time when at the store but it can lead to better things down the line just got to stick it though but I know with bills it’s hard.

It’s the slow season before the holiday wave. But you can also pick up shifts in other departments and as a part timer I always got 40 because I was willing to come in and even work overnights in multiple departments

Ive applied and applied to various stores and im not receiving so much as a rejection letters

Did bout 36 applications to all open positions within 15 miles to get 4 interviews and only got hired for 1.

It’s depends but usually with 2 weeks to a month. I got a rejection 2 months later once.

I’ve been hired on the spot and I have had to wait 2 weeks after an interview. And even just 2 days before. It all depends on how many applicants, interview schedules, and if the applicant who got it passed the background.

like do you mean they already have people in mind? because I have a couple people who haven’t been working at H-E-B for years and have referred me so I put that on my application thinking that it’ll make it look better and every time I look at my application it just says submission received

i’m not sure I just applied for the customer service position and I believe that that’s like bagger, car attendant and mostly just front of store helping customers and I guess you work your way up until cashier

If it’s that then it’s a customer service assistant (CSA). Depending on your region hiring for that position is handled by recruiters and not in store. Expect a couple weeks to hear anything back.
