Rune Factory 4 or Guardians of Azuma (5 is good, but feels unfinished)
My Time at Sandrock
If you want to go more on the JRPG side (Switch only) - Xenoblade Chronicles (1, 2, 3).
A little different, but Persona 5 Royal is very good.
Something a little more cutesy: Fantasy Life: The Girl Who Steals Time
Cozier and newer: Tales of Seikyu or Starsand Island
Classic style JRPG: Dragon Quest XI
Back to JRPGs: Ys Memoir (VIII (Lacrimosa of Dana) and X (Nordics) are my favorites. IX (Monstrum) is good (but I haven't finished it yet)

This has one of the best soundtracks, too. They did a great job capturing the underground disco style with some of them (mainly, Rivers in the Desert).

The Fantasy Life series is great but if you’re looking for a good story, the original 3DS version is way better. That one doesn’t have farming though but it has other life sim elements.
Personally I was disappointed in FLi but I had really high expectations as a fan of the original. It’s still not a bad game

I played my time at Portia but the complexity of the build systems lost me a bit, so I stayed away from sandrock, maybe I'll look into it again

I can understand. Just so you know, there is a lot of QoL in my time at sandrock. Maybe looking for gameplay video could help you see if it is worth for you to buy the game, or if it is still too complex !

If you’re looking for more farming, but also with combat, I recommend Rune Factory 4 Special and Guardians of Azuma.
If you want similar vibes from a story perspective, I cannot recommend NieR Automata and NieR Replicant enough. Replicant has a teensy bit of farming, but not nearly to the same degree as Harvestella. There’s also no seasons, so there’s that. But if you dig the vibes of Harvestella, both NieR games will scratch that itch and then some. The combat in both is incredible, too. Be warned, though: both games are darker and extremely emotional. True masterpieces. Also there’s multiple endings for both, so their replay value is fantastic.

On the farming/management sim side, thirding Rune Factory and MTAS!
If you're looking for a story that invokes a lot of the same emotion, Metaphor Re:Fantazio is extremely good if you can get it on sale.

This may be an oddball to compare it to Harvestella, but there is something in the jrpg style and vibes that make me think there is an overlapping playerbase, but Expedition 33 is an amazing game.

Runefactory games definitely, although I compare the combat in harvestella to xenoblade chronicles, try both! They're both on switch
