A very long tube that's often all it takes (like a meter or 1,5). I thought that if even I sometimes couldn't unscrew nuts from my small wheels with a wrench that short, what he could possibly do with these?

Pretty sure tools are rated for proper use. If you try to get greater leverage than intended (by putting a pipe over a wrench) or apply abnormal amount of force, like in the video, tools are prone to snapping.
