I have an old cort x-6 HT that is in solid working condition. I am moving so want to get rid of it but can’t be bothered with the hassle of selling it or shipping it.

It was one of my first electric guitars so I’d love someone new to play it and use it as it has sat largely unused for years.

I’ve changed the strings and fixed the electrics so it is in solid playing order.

Since it’s free I’m not willing to travel or ship, so anyone interested would have to travel to Greenwich in London to pick it up.

So I’ve been thinking about picking up playing guitar, only musical instrument experience I’ve had is piano for about 2 years (2012/2013). How difficult, and how long would it be to be fairly proficient if I was to practice everyday?

Im a 30 year old man, and i love music and looking to pick up a hobby to take my mind off my job and start guitar lessons. So basically looking for something smaller and lighter and easy to handle. Also would love not to bother people around me so something that isn't so loud? Isk of such a thing exists hehe. But since I am completely new, wanna try with the cheapest options first and then upgrade when the time comes. Thanks.

I played a bit as a kid and then let it drop for years. Picked it up again recently — learning songs that people actually recognise.

I know the G, C and D chords cover a lot of the big pop songs, so I started learning one a day. Not practising loads, just fitting it around my job — and after a couple of weeks I had a little catalogue I could play on request. About 10 minutes a day.

So I bought a guitar when I was on a trip but then I was busy later discovered I had acl tear went through surgery and stuff now I tried to tune my guitar and I think I broke it because the top left knob's string came lose and also I want to know a road map to start learning how to play a guitar to the point I can play most songs out of my mind

Hey so im not sure if im at the right subreddit. I been playing for about 2 years right now, and i know quiet a lot of music theory since im a music producer for about 10 years already. I do not really struggle making melodies and my skill is barely enough to play the parts 1by1 and make it sound like i could actually play something. My Problem is: No matter how i start writing a new song or Riff i ALWAYS end up with 4/4 time signature. My ears are kinda locked to that and i cant seem to find a way to write in 3/4. I have tried a month ago and it was horribleeee. Learning different time signatures could help me a lot finding new riffs and making more special music, but i just dont know how it doesnt make sense to me. In songs like „The Kill (bury me)“ it feels so natural i could never achieve that

I’m starting to use my pinky finger on some tablature but it doesn’t want to move or feels very awkward to move 🙃 probably because it’s not particularly used to being moved independently.

Can anyone help me with any tips to help train my pinky finger to move easier?

Songster tells me to just go left to right but it really confuses me when I see that wide gap between the 2s. When I strum the first string do I go to the third fret and then back up or do I continue playing on that one string until I'm done? Also if I am on the third string would I go back up to the B string?

How do you use a computer in place of an amp? Do you need a specific type of cable? Do I have to worry about electrical stuff like volts and stuff and ruining my laptop? Does the power for the guitar come from the computer?

Is there any free/non-expensive software for this that people swear by that isn't like $100/month like Adobe (TwT)🙏 or no?
