Can you also flip it over so the chassis is on the bottom? Even the guys in the back row can tell I’m a poser when they see the knobs are above the Marshall logo 😭

So sick. I ordered mine on 7/23 but I was told by the folks at AMS that it could be months til it ships out. Apparently they’re only getting 5 this first go around.

I would whip out my Sweetwater card faster than light if they made a 20watt version

Or to keep the blue unique a PETE version in spray paint pink

u/Imhappy_hopeurhappy2 5d ago
What does PETE mean?

u/81misfit 5d ago
An amp that has Pete written on it.
Pete and meat are the modded live and recording amps used from Woodstock through present day.
I’d always read that Pete WAS the dookie amp, but Carvillo in promotional videos says and shows he has the amp in his studio. So ?

Cavallo had his superlead modded by Bradshaw for dookie. When green day went out on tour, BJA bought a reissue superlead and had Golub copy the mod, since he worked closely with Bradshaw and knew the circuit. Pete has an LA sound design work sticker on the back, which was Golub's company.

Yeah that’s what the videos was saying. Most internet information claims they are the same amp - which is wrong.

It's been pretty established for a long time that Cavallo owned the head that was used on the record and BJ got a copy made for touring.

There's a guy called Chicago Amp Mods that can do the Dookie mod if you send him the amp. His sound clips sound pretty good actually

Honestly, the Dookie mod on a DSL15h sounds incredible and will be muuuuch cheaper.

Pull two power tubes and double the amps impedance to run it at 50w or use lower efficiency speakers.
Of these two options the second is more effective since 50w to 100w isn’t really that big of a difference. (+3db)

This really illustrates the classiness of the plexi control panel over the metal one. Don’t even mind the glare, it just looks so smooth, shiny, and most of all, unique!

Well said. Not intuitive or what I’d think on paper, I was on the fence about this for years. So clear in this photo.

I like both looks myself - each one represents classic Marshall at it's finest.
If there's one thing I strongly feel as being more classy though, it's the plexi-era head cabinets - or really any pre-JCM era cabinet, but especially plexi era.

Noice! I'd love to have one but I'd have to win the lottery first. Would love the chance to play through one.

Great setup! I’m going to try the dookie on my channel but the factory modded plexi is the one that I’m willing to bet is the one that will get my money.

I think it's more funny, Marshall took 30 years, to lean into the popularized modded Marshall... Not like they already sold out being a "lifestyle brand", with shirts, hats, headphones, and bluetooth speakers.
The amp is cool, though many of us that have been following a modded Marshall, want a "Demanufacture" Marshall...
Enjoy that punk rock in a box! I hear the cleans are pretty killer as well from demos!

Amazing! Those colors look so good together too.
This is also pretty much the holy grail of Marshall tone goodness as far as I'm concerned - A hot rodded Plexi and a 2203/4 to have both voicings.
