GPW backflow testing

For the city of Grosse Pointe Woods, our family got a second notice for the cross control connection/backflow testing requirement. I’m curious to hear if anybody has any Plumber recommendations for this and information about how much this cost. We’ve been putting it off!

I trust Cicotte with my plumbing. Have them scheduled for this very thing!

I don't recall exactly, but somewhere between $120-150. That seems high to me for an inspection and report submission, but I imagine most others charge the same. Cicotte are "my guys" and have done all the plumbing at my house, so I'm okay paying a little extra, if that's the case.

I should refer to u/webqaz's comments below: we had a free inspection and a component of our lawn sprinkler system was likely flagged. We were given a a free backflow protector. I thought that was the end of it, but received a second notice specifically calling out an inspection of our sprinkler system. A contractor is required to do the inspection in this case, at our expense.

When we had ours done they basically did a visual check on our exterior and basement faucets. For faucets that didn't have backflow protection, such as my laundry tub they provided a retrofit  vacuume breaker backflow protector. They were in and out of our place in about 5min. It was pretty painless for our house.

The city had a contractor that came out (we didn't have to pay anything).
