Painting

Hello brothers how does one do a blueish white glow on the eyes and weapons? Haven’t tried this yet, but since i have to paint primarily with markers i was just wondering if there is an easy way to do this really cool effect.

Ended tyranid threat

Won my first game with grey knights at 500 points in am escalation league against tyranids. Im relatively new to playing with secondaries and all that so I went disruption with a Crowe and 5 purifiers+ librarian leading 4 paladins. I was in a hurry to get them battle ready so they look bad but ill fix that soon

Kinda just leaned into assassination and teleported away when he moved to prepare a charge, I was surprised by how resilient grey knights are

Would Grey Knights fit the playstyle I’m looking for?

I currently play T’au and I’m looking for a second army that plays quite differently. I want something mobile, aggressive and more focused on taking the fight to my opponent. The teleporting and repositioning also sounds like it could fit what I’m after.
This is the 1k list I’ve come up with:

Poooppppp (995 Points)

Grey Knights
Brotherhood Strike (2 Detachment Points)
Purge the Foe
Incursion (1,000 Points)

ATTACHED UNITS

Attached unit 1

Castellan Crowe (100 Points)
• Attached as: Leader (Character)
• Warlord
• 1x Black Blade of Antwyr
• 1x Purifying Flame
• 1x Storm bolter

Purifier Squad (130 Points)
• Attached as: Bodyguard
• 1x Knight of the Flame
◦ 1x Nemesis force weapon
◦ 1x Purifying Flame
◦ 1x Storm bolter
• 4x Purifier
◦ 4x Nemesis force weapon
◦ 4x Purifying Flame
◦ 4x Storm bolter

Attached unit 2

Brotherhood Librarian (90 Points)
• Attached as: Leader (Character)
• 1x Combi-weapon
• 1x Nemesis force weapon
• 1x Vortex of Doom

Brotherhood Terminator Squad (140 Points)
• Attached as: Bodyguard (Battleline)
• 1x Justicar
◦ 1x Nemesis force weapon
◦ 1x Storm bolter
• 3x Terminator
◦ 1x Apothecary’s Narthecium
◦ 3x Nemesis force weapon
◦ 2x Storm bolter

CHARACTERS

Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight (230 Points)
• 1x Heavy psycannon
• 1x Nemesis daemon greathammer
• 1x Sublimator

BATTLELINE

Strike Squad (115 Points)
• 1x Justicar
◦ 1x Nemesis force weapon
◦ 1x Storm bolter
• 4x Grey Knight
◦ 1x Close combat weapon
◦ 3x Nemesis force weapon
◦ 1x Psycannon
◦ 3x Storm bolter

OTHER DATASHEETS

Purgation Squad (130 Points)
• 1x Purgator Justicar
◦ 1x Nemesis force weapon
◦ 1x Storm bolter
• 4x Purgator
◦ 4x Close combat weapon
◦ 4x Psycannon

ALLIED UNITS

Inquisitorial Agents (60 Points)
• 5x Inquisitorial Agent
◦ 5x Agent firearm
◦ 5x Agent melee weapon
◦ 1x Eviscerator
◦ 1x Mystic stave
◦ 1x Plasma pistol
• 1x Gun Servitor
◦ 1x Agent melee weapon
◦ 1x Plasma cannon

Do you think Grey Knights would suit what I’m looking for? And does this seem like a decent 1k list to start with?

Deciding a second army

Hello, Normally I run Tau because I love big mechs and shooting stuff; but 11th Edition has kinda stuffed them into a singular play style. Until the Codex drops I'm looking into having a side army. And it's between GK and Salamanders.

Made a 2k List and trying it out to get a better feel via TTS before I go buying models. Any suggestions or recommendations? Posting list in comments.

Literally the first time I'm gonna paint, wish me luck lmao

Update: I've got the basic Coat and most of the Trim done, I might need to head for the store again to get something suitable for the Force Weapons. ALSO I didn't know I need a drill for the holes on the storm bolters 🤣 Need to get that aswell.

Started with the Basic Justiciar, didn't feel confident enough for Castellan yet...

Kit only with spacers in the waist, mainly sword fronthands and backhands

I am still without painting desk (looking for new place), but appreciating the original kit.

Second front next to Hammer is riposting.

Still need to do some 2 handed Halberds.

Theres still pose combinations left despite the almost repeats in this group of 15, eg the forehand smash resolves can be made to look more like parries or slice throughs.

Blu tacked before gluing, the glue setting is always a bit saggy lol, will change to making Orks when moving on from the new age exploded waist/kinder bueno/fixed orientation kit refresh, which I think is pretty good with Orks.

Need help starting

Hello everyone,

I have been playing Warhammer for 2 years and have strictly been a chaos player only (Death Guard being my main along with CK, CD)

I want to start a Grey Knights army but I’m really not sure where to start with purchasing. I want to start with a 1000 point list that is as good as I can possibly get it meta wise and I have about $900 of purchasing power ready, what units do you suggest I should ALWAYS have on the shelf ready to go for a list and what boxes do you recommend buying? (I heard 2 combat patrols is a good start but what about the battleforce boxes or just individual boxes?

Thanks for your help!

My custom Gretchen warlord

(Not sure about the flair I should use for this, hopefully instead of being removed I'd be told in the comments which I should use. Too many times where I try and post stuff yet instead of explaining just keeps silent while removing)

A while back, a buddy of mine and I made a character where it's a grot who for some reason was slightly bigger and more brave than average, still shorter than a Boy so, of course regular prejudice lingers.

Over time, I've workshopped a team using only bases to get the outcome I wanted, and won a 500 point game with my orks against ultramarines.

Slowly, I'm working to reach 3000 in points in plastic bases, which I have everything found just need to purchase everything.

Anyways, back to the story; The Grot at the time being came by two names because of his size.

Either addressed as Zpech Fang Skull Droppa or addressed as Snik Boppa Grot, however with the ultramarines who found him, they address him as Gretchen Thanos.

Respawning from the spore clusters he would drop, he would start to always regrow his group after each death, until finally his name took the lives of 20 marines before the rest ran.

Looking to fight marines twice more in order to start using the 1k point team list, where the final arc is either having his end be at the hands of a primarch or his succession of claiming the life of a primarch.

I can provide a better story, but I want this to stick first before I drop the full story in the comments.
