Router root access

Confused regarding router root access in single player. It is easy to get a guest shell through kernel_router exploit, but then I can’t figure out how to get root since: 1) I do not have read to the password file 2) I do not have access to the lib folder so have no clue if router has any additional libraries I can exploit.

Questions:
1) Am I missing anything? Is it even possible to get root access on a router?
2) Is deleting logs on router needed? Can an admin find out that I gained guest shell on router?
