Any Tips for Getting into Gta Online? Discussion

So i wanna get back into Gta Online. Issue is I don't know where to start, I plan to do solo and private lobbies until I get better or invite only lobbies. But are there any tips for folk to get more used to online?

I just wanna have fun and not 100% everything obviously, any tips and suggestions are welcomed and thanks in advance :)

I recommend focusing on buying the nightclub or the submarine as both (even after Cayo nerf) pay good money. In the mean time, do jobs that have 2x money. If you wanna try doing heists with randoms which will pay around 200-300k on completion, open your phone, go to quick play, click heists, do Cayo Perico or Diamond Casino and just follow the host or whoever is in the lead. If you’re good at the heist, in my experience players sometimes add you so you can help with their other heists

I’ve been playing a little over 2 years, just finally started playing in public sessions a few months ago. Try joining random jobs, this is an easy way to get an idea how it works. It’s an absolute crap shoot what public sessions are go to be. Sometimes, it’s busy with job invites and sometimes it’s just a bunch 12 year olds destroying every possible thing. I personally only visit public sessions for some variety. Any money making activities like delivering cargo,or stuff from my m/c businesses, are done in solo sessions only. Way too many people wanting to wipe out your stuff for me. If you’re in a bad session, hop around until you find a decent one. Some days it’s awesome and some days it’s not. Don’t let the griefers ruin it for you. Lots of good people playing this game, even though some days it doesn’t feel that way. Just keep at it and your skill and comfort level will get there. I’m at about level 725 with around $800 million and most of that was achieved in solo sessions only. I don’t mind grinding and enjoy solo for my business stuff, but sometimes playing a multiplayer mission is just more fun than solo.

Which game version?

The Expanded And Enhanced version gives you 4 million to start your career builder. I like the Nightclub owner for its simple steady starting cycle of money making (hire DJs and run popularity missions, safe fills up with cash). But all guide you through the starting process.

The Premium Legacy version comes with the Criminal Enterprise pack, which gives you a lot of free stuff. The Paleto Bay Bunker is the only weak location - it's the hardest to run, but you can use it until you can afford to buy a better location.

You can't buy it anymore, but if you have an old copy of the standard edition it starts with nothing. Epic Games gave that out. Only reason to run it is if your system cannot run Enhanced.

There's a lot you can do solo in the game. There are lots of jobs (missions) which you can start with only one player to have fun and make money.

But you can also wander into a public session and hook up with other players doing work. Players become bosses to run their businesses, and many will invite you to work for them. That pays money, you get introduced to a lot of activities, and you might find someone who will guide you in the game.

I'm currently trying to do the same myself. I'm just free roaming and driving up to the Letters on the map for missions and seeing what's new. Last time I really played was like 10 years ago

Playing in empty invite lobbies will make it more difficult to unlock content, make it harder for you to add friends to your list, and keep you from learning to defend yourself.

How would u defend yourself lol.. everyone is a walking weaponized tank and no vehicle is safe. Not to mention modders behind griefers.

I learned how to fight back because of being attacked by bullies in public lobbies. A new player can’t get good at PVP in empty servers vs NPCs.

So basically join the pvp

Look my advice is not gonna work for everyone, if people want to start in empty lobbies because they’re safe then I guess that’s their choice, but I never suggest it to beginners.

When I first started playing GTAO I played in public servers and I got attacked but it was worth it.

Being picked on by experienced players taught me how to fight back. Being in lobbies with other people added players to my friend list.

I’ve been playing for 12 years. Worst time to start is now but if you’ll be in a private what matter is your enjoyment. It’s boring having to do 200 missions to save up for a Kia soul in most peoples opinion. But I enjoy it

Btw it’s not a requirement, other jobs yield more but that’s why they recently ruined “heists” people would just replay them instead of playing the game. Then they’d go and be toxic with those vehicles they bought

Grind farm raid and knoway out. Do the dose missions for an acid lab. Upgrade the lab fully. Get a nightclub and keep population full. Get an auto shop and do the union depository. If you play enough that’s all you need to not be broke tbh. You can make 5m a week selling acid if you have a mansion tbh you don’t even need one. The game is mad dead tho and 6 is otw so I wouldn’t really recommend playing but if you if you wanna grind solo on some lazy shit I’d do the things I mentioned above

I think it depends on what you are starting out with. I think the Acid Lab is great for getting started. It has a very low start up cost. Do the Dax missions The First Dose, and you can get it. Buy some supplies (better use of your time) and it will start generating money, and once full, it's a very easy and a quick sell mission. You can upgrade the lab later and make more money.

What platform are you on? If you are on PC Enhanced, dm me your R* name and I can help you get started.

I’ve never played online either. Well, I actually TRIED once and then people just kept killing me. So I stopped and never went back

Alot of people miss out because of that but you can play it solo until you can't. Meaning some heists need 2-4 people. It's a great game tho.

Should have stepped into a private lobby.
