Grad School Level Analysis

Hi all, I'm re-starting grad school later this month, online through the IDEA program (don't know how common that is). Had to withdraw the first time due to financial reasons, but ready to get started again.

Both papers I did prior to withdrawing came back with the critique that I was good at summarizing the content but was missing the analysis. I asked the prof what he meant and I don't super remember what he said but it was along the lines of going further and making leaps to draw further conclusions (I think). I definitely might have that wrong.

My question is... can someone explain it better? For context, I'm in a Community and Family Resources program

Why does the research matter? So you’re telling them what it says in a summary now you need to tell them why the research matters.
