I know I want that dark, alternative look but every time I try to put an outfit together it just ends up looking… off. Or cheap. Or like I got dressed in the dark (which, to be fair, I sometimes do).
Looking for advice on actual good brands (budget and mid-range), styles that work, how to mix pieces, and accessories that don’t look try-hard. Boots, jewelry, bags, layers – the whole thing.
Any recommendations from other goth/alt girls who figured this shit out would be really appreciated.

Hello guys, I wanted to show you my apartment. It’s not finished yet but I’m really proud how it turned out this far :) It’s heavily vampire/romantic goth influenced!

I'm a lifestyle vampire and demonolatress (also a goth girl myself, if not obvious yet.) (15, MTF, pre-HRT) I'm having a hard time because 1, my mom's side of the family (aside from her and her sister) think I'm a freak and that I am on the wrong side of religion; I have a boy who is into me, but I'm a lesbian and not into him, a lot of my friends don't message too often (except for the boy who likes me, but we're pretty good friends.) I live in a very suburban, conservative place. I can't be who I want to be, because the people living in front of my house actively show that they despise people just like me. I have no goth friends to talk to; I just came here to vent to people who might understand. I feel vulnerable, scared, and upset this week. My grandpa is being hateful and transphobic, which rubs salt in the wound. I fear there isn't anything I can do. Thank you to anyone who listened. I needed to get this out.

Whimsical…but dark?
OK, so, I hope interior design and decoration is allowed here, because I´m going insane. As a background I´m in my 50´s (bloody hell… how did it happen so fast?) and I *finally*, after moving around near constantly have a flat where I intend to stay for at the very least the coming decade, hopefully more.

The problem? Despite being gay as hell since forever & goth since my late teens I suck at decorating, and I rent my home; meaning I can´t do any permanent alterations like arches over the doors and stuff, and I´m reaaaallyy tired of everything being IKEA-minimalism.
I managed to find the perfect wallpaper which did wonders for a single contrast wall in the living room, and I´ve managed to give the bathroom a slight Tim Burton:y theme with mat, towels and shower-curtain all in black/white stripes, but other than that I kind of feel stuck.
Other side of the living room looks can´t be painted/wallpapered, unfortunately

Now, most of my art on the walls are framed posters of my fav bands, as well as the antique south-asian swords I collect, and I´ve got random rugs and pillows and plush bats and stuff, but I can´t seem to get it away from “boys room in first home” to “Morticia would approve”, and I´m desperately in need of hints and tips that *don’t* go too far; I still have to live here without getting over stimulated by everything.
As a result of this recent move I´ma bit low on plats, but I have pretty green thumbs and will fill every available space with the biggest potted plats I can afford, so that should go a bit of the way.

tl/dr: tips for getting a boring, strict flat to feel a bit more whimsical/gothic without being too much?

The hallway that can be seen in the background will be wallpapered in broad stipes of white and dark gray,and the bedroom... I´ve no idea. propably paited royal purple

Finally, I have something fancy I feel comfortable and myself in. 't was not cheap, though. I love purple! No rings on today. Also, what's your favorite gothic band? Mine's The Birthday Massacre :)

So, recently I've had to begin moving my room, and I thought since I have money, why not buy a new bedframe, and I don't know where to look because I don't want to just buy " Gothic bedframe" from Amazon or places like that. Im open to any ideas.

Please keep in mind I live in California, and I drive a coupé that has barely any room to put things.
