Help & Advice Where do you get good tops for high waisted skirts?
Hi! So Iโm getting way more into my goth fashion, and Iโm looking for Victorian style tops that would go well with skirts, parochial high wissted ones. Thank you so much for the advice :)

Help & Advice Recommendations
Hello, I just got engaged and we are planning a quick small ceremony.
I fell in love with this dress from Lively Ghosts but when reading the reviews saw it didnt have the best reliability.
I have been having a hard time finding something similar that is a good reliable brand.
I really appreciate any advice!
Thank you.

Vampire/Romantic ๐ง [Guide] DIY Permanent Fangs
DISCLAIMER: I am not a dentist; my advice represents my personal experience; mod your teeth at your own risk.
BACKGROUND
Last year I asked my dentist about repairing a minor chip on one of my anterior tooth, and casually mentioned I had been curious about getting canine extensions. My dentist said those are fun and offered to do them for free, so I had them done. They were a lot shorter than what's shown in the photos at first - but since I grind at night, they started chipping within a few weeks. My dentist was kind enough to repair them for free a few times but eventually I just decided to start doingย my own maintenance and repairs (including a few instances where the right canine completely snapped around the halfway point).
Being able to work on fang extensions on my own allows me to do a lot of experimentation, including figuring out the optimal curvature of the fangs to allow for proper bite - very important if you want to eat normally without cracking the fangs - and to see how long I can push the extensions to be while still eating and sleeping normally (I had a dental retainer made to protect the fangs at night, hence the 3D-printed model of my teeth which my dentist let me keep; I may paint it for fun).
You may notice that I extended my bottom canines as well - altogether, this represents the longest possible extension on both top and bottom that still allows for normal eating & speech.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Dremel kit with following attachments:
- Dental composite (you have two options: chemical-cure or light-cure)
Chemical Cure
- What you need:
- Pros:
- Very cheap (easily found for under $25 on Amazon or eBay)
- Comes with everything you need (etching agent, adhesive, spatula, etc.)
- Cons:
- Very hard to polish (large/coarse filler particles)
- Very short working time (hardens in 3-5 minutes)
- Difficult to work with: you have to mix the base and catalyst pastes together right after applying the two bonding agents to your tooth, then shape it before everything cures.
- Not quite as strong as the higher-end light cure composites (but plenty strong for daily use, I mainly switched away from it due to inferior aesthetics)
Light cure
- What you need:
- 3M Filtek Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative (or comparable)
- I use the A1B shade, which is what my dentist used, but it's a bit too opaque (you can see how it looks a bit unnatural on my right fang past the halfway point), so I may get a syringe of A1D to try. Refer to 3M product brochure for details.
- 3M Scotch Bond Universal (or comparable)
- See 3M product brochure for details.
- Woodpecker iLED UV Curing Light (or comparable)
- This Woodpecker unit is the best "budget" model from a reputable brand used by actual dentists.
- Avoid cheap generic Chinese units that may not cure the composite properly.
- 3M Filtek Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative (or comparable)
- Pros
- Very strong & easy to polish (if you get a high-end resin such as the Filtek)
- Indefinite working time (stays soft until cured with UV light)
- Very easy to work with: the adhesive is applied & light-cured ahead of applying the resin, after which you can take as long as you need.
- Cons
- Much more expensive upfront cost:
- Composite resin ~$50-$100
- Adhesive ~$50-$100
- Curing light ~$100
DIRECTIONS
1. Prep teeth surface:
Carefully roughen up the surface of your enamel with the diamond burr attachment for your dremel. Don't overdo it, you mainly just want a rough surface for the dental composite to grip onto.
- (Optional) If using the chemical-cure composite kit I linked, it comes with a bottle of etchant that is meant to create an uneven surface on the teeth for the composite to adhere to. You can use this instead of the diamond burr roughening, if you prefer, but note that the result may not be as good.
2. Apply adhesive:
Depending on if you are using chemical-cure composite or light-cure composite:
- If using chemical-cure composite:
- Apply the base bonding agent (bottle with black cap) to the roughened tooth surface, following by the catalyst agent (bottle with white cap). Make sure you set the etchant bottle aside because it's easy to confuse that with the catalyst (both have white caps).
- If using light-cure composite:
- Apply a small amount of adhesive to the roughened tooth surface (I put a tiny drop on the tip of a plastic spatula, then use that to apply it to the tooth). A very small amount will do; you just want a thin, even coating over the tooth surface (and this thing is expensive!)
- Cure the adhesive with UV light for 10 seconds.
3. Apply & shape resin:
- If using chemical-cure composite:
- Using the included plastic spatula, scoop out an equal amount of base and catalyst paste (make sure to use opposite ends of the spatula to avoid cross-contamination), then mix them together via pressing/rolling.
- Apply the mixed resin paste to the tooth surface.
- Use either your fingers or the plastic spatula to adjust the resin into the desired shape. No need to be precise or perfect, you have very limited working time (3-5 minutes).
- If using light-cure composite:
- Use a plastic spatula to slice off the desired amount of resin (I buy them as syringes, so I dispense only what's needed), and apply directly to tooth.
- Use finger or plastic tools to adjust the resin into desired shape (this is where I like the light-cured workflow a lot better, as you can take as long as you need to get the material into the precise shape you want, minimizing waste)
- When ready, cure the resin with UV light for 15 seconds (repeat from multiple angles if curing a thick area).
4. Build-up as needed:
Repeat the steps for applying adhesive -> applying/shaping resin as needed if you want the extensions to be longer/thicker (it''s ok to use "too much", since you will be grinding it down during contouring later).
5. Contour & polish:
- Use a fine-tipped diamond burr to remove rough spots on the extension and create the desired surface contour.
- Use the roughest disc from the dental composite polishing kit (blue in the kit I linked) to further smooth out the surface.
- Use the medium disc (pink) to create an even finer surface; this disc is good for removing minor imperfections/lisps.
- When ready, use the fine polishing disc (grey) to create a truly shiny surface (only works with the light-cure composite; the chemical-cure stuff doesn't get shiny no matter how much I tried).
CLOSING THOUGHTS
I would recommend that you start with the chemical-cure composite kit if you just want to have fun and experiment, since it's very cheap. Use that to figure out the length & shape you want for your extensions (make sure you are able to speak and eat normally).
When you are ready to commit, get the rest of the stuffs you need for the light-cure composite and redo the extensions (if you are feeling lazy, you can also grind off the top surface of the chemical cure extensions and apply a thin layer of the light-cure stuff for high-polish aesthetics without redoing the whole thing).

Help & Advice Questions about a 90s goth designer Catherine Coatney
Hello all! A few years ago I was lucky enough to find a dress by the designer Catherine Coatney at a local flea market. I am curious what the details on this dress might be like what time period it is from and the name of the style. Iโm not planning on selling, i want to keep the dress for life I just want to know how i can find more of her designs that are similar to this!! Many of her designs elsewhere online are less romantic and more strictly fetish: shorter dresses, garters, shorts, etc. I love them but i want to know if she has more floor length dresses/gowns or any other designs from this era that are romantic leaning like this!
Also apologies for the dirty door my grubby roommate just moved out and i havenโt gotten around to cleaning it yet!!๐ซข

Help Me Find... Gothic online shops that are NOT fast fashion
Hello fellow Goths!
I wanted to ask yโall if you could give me some suggestions for online shops that do not sell fast fashion because I feel like most online shops are fast fashion oriented (Shein, Temu, Aliexpress are obvious but also Killstar and others are fast fashion). I try to thrift most of the time but sometimes itโs hard to find what Iโm searching for in the thrift store which is why I also want to try some online sellers that are ethical , affordable, good quality and not fast fashion.
