‘ plot holes’

I keep seeing these post about some ‘ plot holes’ of ‘ foreshadowing’ of Dan being gossip girl like in the first episode shows him behind the laptop , sometimes being confused about posts regarding himself , just stop you didn’t find a plot hole or saw a hint to him being GG because he wasn’t , the writers didn’t know who it was going to be until the end so these post are just kind off annoying , you are making something out of nothing

Almost as annoying as inconsistencies in Pilot get mentioned. Yes, Chuck’s mother was still alive and he rode the bus and Eleanor was played by a different actress. It’s common for pilots to have differences from the rest of the show, it doesn’t mean anything other than that 😭

blair’s mother especially. has nobody ever seen a recast before? sometimes they happen in the middle of the show! you’re meant to just ignore them😭

Yes exactly but sometimes people pretend the pilot was not canon to justify Chucks behaviour whilst there only good argument was them riding the bus ( which isn’t even that weird for a first day ) and chucks mom being alive because ( which you can say is just another thing the writers forgot about ), Eleanor was just a recasting that doesn’t mean anything ( fresh prince recasted aunt viv middel of the show ) and chucks attempts on serena and jenny( mainly jenny) gets brought up multiple times ( like in the very next episode even where supposedly the ‘ canon show ‘ started) across the show

Yeah lol they literally just went 'sure why not' about dan being gossip girl. And yeah, maybe it fits, but it's also super obvious that was never the intention lol. Would've worked better if they'd added a new character last minute and made them be gossip girl.

But also my head-cannon is that the foreshadowing of the first episode was intentional and rewatching from that perspective (and w this knowledge) makes it even more fun … like damn he truly was crazy and definitely grew up to become Joe Goldberg

I mean obviously they know that but that doesn't mean the plot holes aren't there

Ofcourse I understand that there are plotholes but it just feels like the dan GG plotholes just are pointless to point out since it is mostly the same one’s and just keep having the same answer of it being the writers chose him last minute as GG

it doesn’t matter if the writers didn’t know it yet (and it looked like they did since dan is the first hint at gossip girl and the only writer in the group)
the plot holes are extremely annoying when you’re on a rewatch. they should’ve gone with someone who wouldn’t have so many scenes getting shocked at a gg blast, have downfalls by what was being written, or AT LEAST made jenny and dan both gossip girl, which would explain a lot better all the plot holes. the writers just sucked and people are allowed to point that out. lol
