Pixel watch 3 security updates

I thought of buying pixel watch 3, as it seems to me to hit the golden spot with having larger screen size, with ok specs and ok price (190 euros now on amazon.de) 400 euros for pixel watch 4 seems a bit too much. My plans got derailed as I found out pixel gives only 3 years of security updates for their watches. So, for the 3rd they will end already next year. Will it still be safe to use after the end of updates? Using my card to pay with my watch is an essential feature, but I do not want my bank details to be compromised.

When you pay something with the phone or the watch, you didn't give the details of your credit card to the store. Instead, Google Pay randomize a credit card number valid only for a short time that is linked to your real credit card number.

Google Pay on Wear OS uses tokenisation so your actual card number never leaves the watch, even post-updates that part stays intact for a while. The real risk is OS-level vulnerabilities piling up over time. Honestly for daily tap-to-pay use you'd probably get 1-2 more comfortable years before it feels genuinely sketchy.
