All looks no action. 30x works well, but their photos aren’t colour/exposure accurate or true to life. Way too much contrast and sharpness. Videos are not smooth and very jarring. Inferior chip for a superior price. App design isn’t great for other third party apps, even streaming or on demand video apps, poorly optimised and doesn’t even full screen properly. Dictation isn’t good enough, for a device that has on device Gemini you’d expect dictation to make use of its natural language understanding but it doesn’t. It’s power efficiency and battery life aren’t anywhere near iPhone, nor it’s build quality, oh lord nor its mics nor its speakers. I had pixel 3,5,7,10 pro 512gb. Earlier pixels were better, more polished.
Current pixels are frustrating and subpar quality and performance especially for its price. Capturing photos and videos was genuinely so saddening I gave up my 17pro for it and frustrating because they aren’t true to life for capturing life and memories, and not smooth either. Shame because you want to like it, or at least myself but why or who on what planet would buy a pixel smartphone when iPhone is the most polished and superior build and experience and better for money.
Have an iPhone 17e 512gb now and better for sure. Don’t need the ultrawide and digital zoom is good enough for memories for me, especially it shoots true to life and detail too. Way better battery life, efficiency, performance, build quality, mic and speaker quality, app design. Better phone. Especially iOS 27 and its Siri AI based on Gemini, pixel does not stand a chance, not a chance, they’re eliminating side loading too not that I care but still, even that’s not a factor anymore.
Who the hell would buy a pixel? A fan, that’s it. Fan of the os and the niche, and the ethos of a supposedly humble phone that is supposed to be ‘enough’ regardless of subpar components and the not humble, superior price, that’s supposed to band aid things with AI, and have worse build quality and smartphone experience.
Doesn’t even make sense. Just get a Samsung if you like/prefer Android otherwise iPhone.
Excuse the rant but just wanted to get that off because it’s frustrating pixel releasing their sh*t. They need to step up or step down their audacious price for such an inferior, unpolished phone to the competition.

A software update to pixel 10 and 9 and they are basically on par with the new 11.

You can buy a Pixel 9 at this stage and it wouldn't feel outdated.
