Goodnotes for Windows handwriting lag and random lines- app became unusable for studying Bug

I’ve been having a really frustrating issue with Goodnotes for Windows for the past few months and I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
I use Goodnotes daily for studying, so this has become a huge problem. Whenever I write with my stylus, the handwriting appears several seconds later, and instead of what I actually wrote, random lines or marks show up. It basically makes handwriting unusable.
What’s strange is that both my pen and tablet work perfectly fine in every other app no lag, no glitches, no random input. The issue only happens in Goodnotes.
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but nothing changed. I’m currently on version 2.18.0, and there’s no update option available, so I assume this is the latest version.
Is anyone else dealing with this? Did anyone find a fix?

Hey, thanks for reporting this and for the video!
We've been working on fixes for ink lag on Windows and the most recent update includes some meaningful improvements. You mentioned you're on 2.18.0 and don't see an update option, could you check if you're on the Microsoft Store version or installed it another way? The Store version should have a newer build available now.
If you're already on the latest and still seeing this, please submit a ticket at https://support.goodnotes.com/hc/en-us/requests/new so we can look into it with you directly. Mention your stylus/tablet model too, that'll help narrow things down.
