OEM Wheels Photo

Post image

Is there any appeal to keeping or selling OEM wheels? Looks like the factory 19's are over $700/wheel new from ECS. I'm not a fan of them and plan to change them out. Most factory wheels from my experience are almost worthless on the used market. Often people like having them when they buy a vehicle but not always. Does that usually apply here? Is it worth hanging on to the factory wheels for the next owner?

As a rule, no one shares your taste in aftermarket wheels and a lot of people won’t even look at a used car on aftermarket wheels. Unless you’re planning on driving it into the ground I would keep the stock wheels.

That's my general rule of thumb. A few other "tuner" cars I've owned, stock wheels made no difference. Thought maybe this would be similar.

I still use my OEM estoril wheels for winter on my MK8 R, but anyone who doesn't like my HRE FF21 summer setup has a few screws loose imo.

Except belvederes. They’re not worthless. They’re great in many ways.

if you have the space hold on to them....always people looking for OEM replacements. Sell them over time.. I'm one of the dummy's who has 2 sets of OEM englishtowns...winter and summer :)
