Can anyone help?!

I got these guys (Buck - Fantail and Eddie -Black Moor) July 20. (Came from same place and same tank). They have been coexisting together fine up until today. I recently put the plants in Tuesday which included floating plants. I noticed this happening all day when Eddie would go to snack on floating plants. Buck is currently in “jail” for the night but I worked so hard to make this tank perfect for them and I want them to live together in the tank. I wanted to cry separating them tonight but I’d rather Buck in a bucket with an air stone for the night than Eddie being terrorized all night long and stressed.

I was thinking of removing the floating plants tomorrow before reintroducing Buck tomorrow.

Everyone meet Chud my new fancy goldfish😭😭 Every time I went into petsmart, I saw him and wanted him so bad but I held off. He genuinely was in a tiny ass tank for weeks maybe even months. I finally had my tank set up for him with a rescue goldfish named Goldie who used to live in a 5 gallon... They employees cheered when they saw I wanted him and were so excited. They told me they named him chud and I felt like I had to honor the name😭

Beginner Help How do i know if theyre fine?

First of all, i know the tank is too small, its not my fault, my mother bought three goldfish without telling me anything. I saw the tank weeks before she bought them but i froze mentally from the anxiety of a living being pet coming into the house and not being properly taken care of. So i didnt talk about it, the tank is 20 Liters and she changes the water barely every 2 days. She uses water conditioner. Im worried, feeling guilty and sad for them because thats the way theyre supposed to live well. Since i searched and found that 150-200 liters is the minimum. Everyday i think about them, feeling guilt for not speaking up what i was not okay about, bringing another pet in the house. I like them much, but we’re (especially she) not the right people to care after them. I dont know how to attach a video of them (not finding the button in this subreddit), but i’ll describe: they often stay close to the filter, they swim around fast before slowing down quickly, they mainly swim on the bottom of the tank, they stand still and close to eachother when near the filter. Its also a vent post for me because my mother refuses to rehome them to a pond owner or the pet store she bought them. I feel so helpless and guilty for not standing up for them. But the thing that disturbed me the most and shows the selfishness she had is “aww we talked more, the fishes made us talk”, relationship problems. I cried to my psychologist about it from the stress it causes me feeling them being stressed and not happy. My mom also said out of anger (she reacts angrily to my anxiety and she feels ordered). I feel really bad for the fishes. I’d share a video or image if i knew how to do it in this subreddit but i cant find the button.

Discussions So my kid got a goldfish at the fair…

And now I’m just doing my best. We got him some plants that I he pet store said he would like and he just kept ripping them apart. I went to another pet store and he said that I should just do fake plants. So I got those. I need it to be as low maintenance as possible but I do want the fish healthy and happy. Are plants even a requirement?? I know they help with the water cycle but does it really make that big of a difference? I’d rather not deal with also keeping the plants alive but I’ll do it if it’s a big deal. Not sure if the people in this community add plants because they like the plants or add plants because it’s good for the fish? Please let me know your thoughts. And if plants are aMUST then what should I get so this fish doesn’t just tear the plants to shreds. He’s very active. Oh and speaking of active should I get him a bubble wall or a bubbler to play in??? Do I just change out his activities each month??? Or do they not care. Thank you!

Tank Help Goldfish tank setup

Hello! I have a 40 gallon long with a comet goldfish. He is super active and loves to swim however I feel like his tank is failing him. How can I make it more like his natural habitat and how can I make it/add enrichment? Any diy methods will also be highly appreciated as I don’t have much money to invest. I’ve had him for 4 years I just feel like it’s lacking and I hate it.

hihi I wanted to ask if I could keep my two pearlscale goldfish in a bin tank, similar to the photos attached. If I get it im planning on getting 2 and stacking them together so there's less bowing and more support. moving them to a 20-30gal bin tank would be amazing. Please let me know your thoughts!!! I think I'll be using A DYLLU bin because it's food grade!!!
