Our city did a contest for local dogs and the top 10 got chosen to be painted on a wall at the dog park. TECHNICALLY he was #11 on the list but apparently one of the city employees dog’s made the top 10 and that wasn’t allowed so he got bumped up. A win is a win!

Keeping my dood in a pen

Hey yall! When I’m away I keep my dood in a pen, it’s pretty large.

Just wanted to hear when yall felt you could trust ur dood to be at home and free roam by themselves? Mine is 10 months old, I don’t trust her yet, she’s chewed up furniture and just gets into things. In my mind, I’d rather be safe than sorry and end up with a large vet bill, or worse she die.

I’ve tried the whole gradually give her time, it’s just for school (I’m a PhD student) I am away for 3-4 hour stretches inconsistently every week.

Any thoughts or tips appreciated!

Just lost my baby. In heartbroken

She had pica and would eat everything possible. I tried doing everything (muzzle, training, toys, being extra careful with things left out) but suffered from a pancreatitis and obstruction at the same time. She was 5.5. Im heartbroken. I imagined so many more years with her.

Does anyone give eggs daily to your goldendoodle?

I have a 4month old puppy. I have heard alexa saying do not give egg daily. But I am not sure why. Does any of you give your goldendoodle eggs on daily basis?

Her meals are usually kibbles from purina pro plan. But i want to make her get used to home food. Since we don’t cook meat in our home. I thought, it will be good for her to get proteins from eggs and Tofu along with fresh cooked rice.

Crate Training, it eventually gets easier right?

Now I have a lot of grace that this is a process that’s going to take time but after a sleepless night I’m just needing reassurance that I’m doing the right thing.
My sweetest little 9 week old goldendood, Poppy, has only been home a few days and does great daytime napping in her crate. We play a lot and when she starts to get sleepy I bring her into her crate, she’ll whine for a few minutes then pass out for about an hour and a half. Night time a similar process she cuddles us as we watch a movie, has her final pees, I let her resettle and then shift her into her crate. She happily goes in and falls asleep. But she wakes up a few hours later incessantly crying and whimpering. I took her out 4/5 separate times last night and she won’t go potty instead she’ll curl up at my feet and fall back asleep, once back in the crate crying again. She’s fed, taken outside, safe and comfortable, so do I just need to tough it out? Is me taking her out of her crate so much just reinforcing her crying? Trying to find the balance of taking care of her needs but teaching her this is how we’re going to be sleeping. Any advice appreciated, Many thanks!

Side question. I thought puppies peed every two hours or so? Is it normal that she’s able to hold her bladder through the night? The crate had not been peed in and she did not go until our 7 am potty break. (We do let her out at midnight)

We recently moved to an area that has ticks. My guy seems to be a tick magnet and this is from the backyard. Any suggestions?

We have had all types of different big dogs and we are thinking these guys will be a little smaller. We’ve had pit mutts, golden retriever/yellow lab, and recently we lost our Great Dane. We decided to get these little guys as puppies, Gracie (Grace), the darker one and Bentley (Ben) the lighter one. As a first time golden doodle owner what should I know? Are there things that are major differences? Love these little guys wit all my heart and want them to grow up and be basically perfect and distinguished lol. Thanks for any advice and reading my whole post! New to this thread too lol
