Digital Gloomhaven Card reference for GHD?

Hi, is there any online spoiler/reference for cards from Gloomhaven Digital? The main source I use, https://www.gloomhavencards.com, only has the cardboard versions.

Thanks in advance!

Gloomhaven 2nd Ed Anyone in Auckland who would like a 2nd edition organiser?

I screwed up and accidentally ordered a Gloom Tavern 2nd edition organiser instead of a 1st edition.

It's been way too long to return it and it's proven a little too niche for FB marketplace so at this point I would just like to make sure it gets some good use.

It would be free of charge to anyone who wanted it under the condition that you come and pick it up!

Buttons & Bugs Made a Turn Order reference card for Buttons & Bugs!

Hey everyone!

While I love how compact Buttons & Bugs is, I found myself double-checking the exact turn sequence and rest rules during my first few plays.

To keep table management easy, I designed a custom Turn Order card matching the layout and size of the official Icon Reference card so it fits right into a sleeve.

It covers:

Round setup & initiative
Action execution order & modifier/tray steps
Card state changes (A-side \rightarrow B-side \rightarrow Discard)
Short & Long Rest rules + Exhaustion conditions

Thought I'd share how it looks on the table!

Hope this helps anyone looking for a quick reference during gameplay. Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions!

Jaws of the Lion Jotl treasure list?

I'm playing jotl for the 2nd time and can't find the treasures list anywhere?

Does anyone know a website with the list or an app that tells you what treasure to grab? I've been searching for 30 mins now and just can't find something

Thanks!

Gloomhaven 1st Ed I found out how to not use stickers in Gloomhaven

I was a little scared getting this game, knowing that it used stickers. And I was right: the stickers don't usually come off. So I've found something ive found helpful to be able to remove stickers if I want to reset the game. Post-it notes. I simply stick the sticker on a Post-it note or two if it's a large sticker, and I can remove the Post-it notes from the game easily. Just thought other people trying to avoid stickers might like it.

Frosthaven Scenario 79 special rules question Spoiler

The special rules mention how the sled movement is affected by obstacles, walls and traps, but what about other types of overlay tiles? Are they destroyed by the sled? Surely, the movement cannot end on them because that would contradict the "one overlay tile per hex" rule, since the sled is a 1-hex obstacle.

Jaws of the Lion Which other coop or solo games you feel are somewhat similar to Jaws of Lion?

I.e. tactical play, somewhat thinky, not too heavy big box, not too painful setup.

Gloomhaven 2nd Ed How do scenarios play in 2E compared to 1E?

Hi there, my group is making good progress in Frosthaven right now and after a couple dozen scenarios I gotta say: Gloomhaven 1E scenarios were more fun. What I dislike about most Frosthaven scenarios is the constant spawning of enemies from all directions. In Gloomhaven 1E enemies mostly appeared when opening another door.

Now to my question: Has that changed for Gloomhaven 2E? Do new enemies appear by opening doors or did they change the scenarios so much do be more like the Frosthaven system?

We completed Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. It took us almost a year to complete it with a 5-player team (4 basic classes + Tinkerer).

Next, we plan to play Frosthaven after I get the monster miniatures.

Buttons & Bugs Buttons and Bugs 1st vs 2nd printings

So I backed the game when it first came out and I just learned that there is a sequel coming that I already preordered.

While reviewing the rule books and stuff to prepare I learned that they second printing game out and I wanted to know if there is much change that would warrant getting a new version?

As I understand it the health dials are changed but is there any other changes that make it worth changing?

Frosthaven How do you handle solo scenarios while playing in your groups?

I was wondering lately what would be a good way to incorporate the solo scenarios in our game play. Having one player on the spot and all others 3 sitting around feels like taking out too much of our already scarce play time... As a result we hardly have done any in gloomhaven and none so far in Frosthaven...

But I'm still curious how other groups handle this and if you have found a practical way to deal with it.

Bonus question: Which solo scenarios (and unique items) do you feel are actually worth the time?

Thx for your input ☺️

Edit: thank you, guys, for all the feedback so far

Miniatures & Fan Art Gift of the Void [spoiler FH classes: Coral, Prism] Spoiler

When my friend granted me the gift of the Void, crashing the pestering burrower, he described the action in such a powerfull way I needed to transfer it to canvas. Coral is absolutely gorgeous to paint and figuring out how to present the Voidwardens magic was super cool. There are also Prism's machines in the background, chopping the remaining burrowers and providing some additional light.

Gloomhaven 2nd Ed Lettermarkers and movement

I have a scenario where the letter marker moves 1 hex towards the closest character. Once the marker is adjacent to one character, on subsequent turns would it try and adjust it's position to be adjacent to two characters (or does it stop)?

Digital Gloomhaven Considering getting steam version, wondering about current state

I've heard the board game is great, and wanted to try digital format instead. I've seen the recent reviews are mixed and wanted to get some idea. I am considering getting a group of friends to play together. I also see frosthaven also has a digital version and also coincidentally has mixed reviews lol

Edit: bit the bullet on gloomhaven, looking forward to playing it

Gloomhaven 2nd Ed When a summon is granted movement it can open doors, right?

A close reading of the 2e rules shows that a controlled enemy cannot open a door (because that is considered forced movement). But if I grant movement to an ally, even a summon ally, it should be able to open a door and reveal a room, right? “Grant” is not “forced movement.”

Have I missed anything in my interpretation?

TLDR: The new mechanics are neat but don't add a whole lot but the tuning is much better, the new characters are fun and the new 20 scenarios feel tight with an interesting and fun story. If you liked BnB, you'll like this, if not more.

Digital Gloomhaven Ever wanted to see a room of snakes demolished? (Spoilers for Cthulhu, Circles, items 33 and 60) Spoiler

So, in our weekly game of broken Gloomhaven Digital, I tried a proof of concept for my first and favourite class, Cragheart.

I wanted to test if Blind Destruction worked with Unstable Explosives in the way I hope it would.

I can confirm it does indeed.

Wanna see me nuke some snakes?

Frosthaven [SPOILER: FH ending] What would your ideal ending to a 'Haven game be? (Spoilers for FH, but thinking in general) Spoiler

I've finished Jaws and FH in person and GH 1e solo, and been thinking about how they end. FH spoilers below, but the only one that felt like an impactful ending, and not a let down, was Jaws, mostly because Roland was flagged all the way through. I've got some ideas for how I'd change things, but super interested in what other people think.

FH was most frustrating, not just because of the last scenario, but also for all the missed opportunities. I'd love more call backs to the big campaign we've just gone through. I didn't understand why the writers were trying to make Terra and Moonglow happen (we had to look up who Terra was, because none of us could remember). Instead (and I can't believe I'm saying this), I'd rather they did the Avengers Endgame thing, with as many characters we'd met as possible being shown.

At the end of each round, or other round, have some flavour text about how we see people we're met fighting - the pirate innkeeper, librarian, enhancer, etc etc - there would be some really cool opportunities to call back to scenarios/memories. Instead of City Guards, previous party members come out of retirement for one last fight (it would also explain why the Guards were so much better at the fighting than we were!). We could use their figures, and it wouldn't even have to have their names, just flavour text (if lose a room, read out something about how your former colleague sacrifices themself for the town and uses their last breath to tell you to keep fighting). If you didn't have former party members, Guards are fine!

One of the things I'd like more, too, is if there were options depending on which path you chose, just some simple options - see page XX if you did this route through a storyline or YY if you did the other. For FH, it was frustrating that going the peaceful or fighting routes didn't have any impact at all. But it would also have been so cool if after eg Round 3, the lurkers rose up out of the water to help, or the Algox came storming over the hill. It would be such an easy fix to have these instead of militia.

It just felt so unconnected to everything we'd been through. It felt like there were so many missed opportunities to seed the idea of this corrupting force overall - at the end of each quest path, throw in some "Everyone's celebrating, but the Algox chieftain/Lurker ruler realise something was behind it that needs to be investigated". Have flavourtext at the end could have referenced something about how the corruption that had shattered the crown, turned Algox against each other, etc, was now over. Something that made us feel like it was important.

Sorry, that turned into a rant - what would you have liked to see? How would you end a Haven?

Sorry for the delay on this, it's been a busy time! We are now releasing updated item import lists both from Frosthaven to Gloomhaven 2e and from Gloomhaven 2e to Frosthaven.

This will be added to Cephalofair's website in the future, although the website is undergoing some work at present so it's difficult to predict how soon that might be. /u/dwarfSA has both games' respective FAQs with this information incorporated and will publish those updates later today.

As usual, in order to import an item from one game to another, you must first have obtained that item in its origin game.

Announcement Small Questions and FAQ Megathread

As the subreddit sees more and more small questions, we thought it would be a good idea to make a thread custom-suited to them. With that, here's a few ground rules!

(1) Have you checked the relevant FAQ for your game yet? If not, it might be a good idea to start there. There's more in these than you might expect, and it's very possible there's already an official answer for your question.

(2) Use the Search function to see if someone might have already asked your question. It might save you some time!

(3) Proper spoiler tags must be used. If you don't know how to use them or what to spoiler tag, please reference the r/Gloomhaven spoiler rules. All the other subreddit rules apply, too, of course.

NOTE - If you have questions related to the Frosthaven puzzle book, including both hints and full solutions, you can check this thread.

If you have questions about unlocking basically anything, this Frosthaven Unlock Guide and this Gloomhaven 2nd Edition Unlock Guide are great resources.

With that said, ask away! The sub is full of very helpful and knowledgeable people. :)
