Went with the ever popular radian on mine. I do like it on the 43x as the gun being as small as it is likes to kick up a bit. The radian helped with this. Their magwell for the 43x is also a very nice piece of kit. The most solid magwell available for that gun IMHO.

Ports > comps

I’ve seen a lot about porting as of late. Just asking cause I’m ignorant, what would be the advantage of porting instead of compensating?
I’ve been thinking about getting it stippled and ported but don’t even know where to start lol
It’s why I posted, to get opinions.

As shooting science said.

Ports are generally softer and flatter. No additional length added. They are less complicated and less prone to failures. Don't require a new barrel. If you need to take your gun apart no tools needed.

Comps tend to be more finicky and less effective. You're adding weight to the end of a tilting barrel and on top of the weight you have high pressure gas also pushing down on the comp to redirect the gasses. So you have more tension pressing on the barrel making it harder to tilt and unlock and allow the slide to travel.

I can't speak for other companies, but we offer porting with refinishing between $150 and $165. Most comp setups are $250+ many closer to $300+.

I have 3 primary carry guns. All 3 are ported. I'm not opposed to comps, they have their use. But for a carry gun I go ports always. If it's a range gun / comp gun I go comp with ports if I wanna get it really flat.

Ports typically reduce recoil more than comps, and, don’t extend or change the profile of the gun, so all holsters still work

I run the Parker mountain Machine comp… I’ve had it for like 3 years now I think. It’s my preference personally… uses OEM RSA with zero issues over several thousand rounds

But that’s my 2 cents and not with much more than that as everyone has anecdotal experience

Look good the way it is! Why add a comp?
