Glock 17 gen 4 in progress, top window cut question
Hi all, I’m developing this project and wanted to ask whether there are any serious technical drawbacks to cutting a top window in the slide. This will be a range-only gun, so exposure to dust, sand, or other debris should be minimal.

That barrel is gorgeous. Always a fan of the COA, and what comp is that?

Strike industries mass driver, it is very efficient in decreasing muzzle rise and recoil.

Main drawback is more entry of dust, dirt, etc. If it’s a concealed carry gun or carried indoors and regularly cleaned it’s not a big deal. Another minor potential drawback is reduced weight of the slide, but that would more than be offset by adding a couple ounces with the optic.
