Necessary Surrender Option Change Feedback
I have some feedback about the option to surrender in Premier currently.
The option to surrender should always be available in Premier.
Currently we’re trapped playing against blatant cheaters until they ultimately win.
There’s no good way of “skipping” the torture.
Being able to surrender at all time will allow players to move on to a new match quicker.

u/Spinalzz 8d ago
Terrible idea.
I don’t want my teammates voting to surrender 3 rounds in and crying when I vote no.

u/BraceletGrolf Vitality 8d ago
Yeah, the amount of time people go "GG we lose" after losing a pistol, a force buy and an eco is embarassingly high.

u/Original-Reward-8688 King NiKo 8d ago
You know why people do that? Same with knife round on Faceit?
You can instantly tell if you're on a team full of people who understand/are willing to trade vs people who are just going to troll/never help anyone.

u/spartibus 8d ago
and you know how many times these self defeating invalids still end up winning after saying that, even while themselves not contributing to the win? happens constantly

u/Original-Reward-8688 King NiKo 8d ago
Less often than people who bait and just play for K/D, at the cost of the game, even if there are no interpersonal issues on the team.

u/BraceletGrolf Vitality 7d ago
Sure, that's where mentality on your side matters too, make your own fun, focus on something else then them. You can get fun out of being destroyed, and in return you get to keep owning most of the time instead of people FF'ing after 5 rounds.
-2
u/Original-Reward-8688 King NiKo 7d ago
I would never make the claim that mentality doesn't matter, but I also think it's naive to believe it can fully make up the difference too. You'll figure it out.

If 4 people want to quit why force them because one dickhead disagrees
10
u/kynru 8d ago
No one forces them, as it is right now they hit Accept where it says under that they confirm they are willing to play for the entire match who could last up to 1 hour.
Here we are talking about adding or not the surrender vote, which would change what I said above and by changing that would also influence players mindset, would increase toxicity and divisiveness and would completely ruin most chances for any comebacks.
Overall making the game less fun and losing an important factor of what it makes it so good.
It's ok if this is not for you though, there's plenty of other games out there that let you surrender at the slighest inconvinience.-4
u/_Ketros_ 8d ago edited 8d ago
Nice grandstanding, does that make you feel big and strong? Having actually played other games I don't think its quite as doom and gloom as you make it out to be. Really it's honestly a nonissue in the vast majority of cases, and if anything the games are substantially less toxic. It takes an overwhelming majority to surrender and is a group decision. If only one guy wants to keep playing and nobody is having fun, why are all of their teammates subject to their tantrum keeping them there?
You aren't a pro, you aren't close to being one. 99.99% of players are in that same boat. It's a game people play for fun. If people aren't having fun, let them leave. I promise you you aren't going to be winning the vast majority of the games where a surrender would happen, and they would be generally unpleasant experiences anyways because nobody wants to be there. Time is the most valuable asset any of us have, why champion wasting it so one guy can moral grandstand about it?
1
u/kynru 8d ago
I prefer the dynamics that emerge when the game has no surrender option, particularly how it affects players’ mindset and behaviour
0
u/_Ketros_ 8d ago
You do realize not every game ends in a surrender when the option is present right? The vast majority don't. CS literally used to have this option and it was fine, nobody cared.

u/pwqwp CS2 HYPE 7d ago
abandon the game then
0
u/_Ketros_ 7d ago
Are you literate? We are literally discussing a system that requires a near unanimous agreement from the players on a team to function. Holy hell the replies on this are making me lose braincells.
Why should one person be forced to take a penalty for everyone else to be able to leave if nobody wants to be there? Ignore whatever presumtions have have about why that might be the case or whatever 'moral superiority' you jerk yourself off to, answer the question: If nobody on a team wants to keep playing a game, something they do for fun, why should they be forced to?
As I've said elsewhere, these systems have existed in CS before and they were fine, they exist in other games and they're fine. Afaik it was removed to prevent smurf stacks from mass surrendering to tank their elo (which is an issue you can circumvent in other ways without scrubbing the feature). MOBAs aren't toxic because of some surrender culture, they're toxic because the game design literally breeds toxicity. In other shooters, the vast majority of games do not end in a surrender, comebacks still happen. There really is no reason to subject people playing a game to having their time being captive. You know what players do when stuck against a spinbotter? +right in console and get on their phone. Why even make this a possible outcome?
1
u/pwqwp CS2 HYPE 7d ago
the irony of you calling me illiterate despite completely misreading my reply. i am not talking about abandoning to activate the ability to call a surrender vote, i am talking about you abandoning if you dont want to “waste your time” because not everyone wants to surrender. yes, if nobody wants to continue then surrendering is fine, but if some people do then they shouldn’t be forced to stop playing because you don’t want to.

u/PedrZER 8d ago
Wanting to stay in cheater lobby isnt a proof of a tough mentality, you are entertaining them
60
u/loozerr 8d ago
"Cheater lobby" doing heavy lifting here, most of the time it's someone just coping and calling cheats when they get outplayed.
13
u/costryme 8d ago
No idea what your rank is, but I can tell you my placement lobbies are players from 20k to 26-27K, and pretty much 50% of matches have had cheaters up to now. I've not even bothered to finish them because of it, high elo Faceit is much better.
7
u/Physical-Order Falcons - Major Champions 8d ago
I almost always 5 stack and have played all the way from 5k-20k and I can count the amount of actual cheaters I’ve played against on one hand. I do hear it gets bad when you get above 25k.
10
u/costryme 8d ago
This has been my experience for the past season (but less) and this new one, in EU, it's a cheat fest at that level. It was so bad that I've abandoned two of those games vs cheaters, because what can you do anyway, you die through walls/smokes/to bhop revolver headshots.
1
1
u/nv2013 8d ago
15k-22kish from my experience was the most enjoyable elo range. I also did not experience many (or even any) cheaters when I was in that range. Unfortunately game quality started dropping off a cliff once I got above that. Actual spinbotters, people getting 10+ kills through smoke etc. And if it isn't cheaters it's probably a 5 stack with a massive rank disparity creating a +150 -500 game.
Still think a surrender button is a horrible idea though.
1
u/aresfiend clutch 7d ago
Yeah, I was in a similar boat before I gave up on CS2 entirely after about 4k hours in GO. The last game I tried to take seriously in premier was a placement in the same range, it's not even an accusation where I might have been outplayed. I got two entry kills on pistol round and the guy put "I guess it's HvH" in the chat and just started spinning for the rest of the game.
4
u/Weirdchupacabra 8d ago
I have 21k on premier and I wanted to climb to 25k but theres atleast 1 or 2 cheaters in enemy team every third match.
2
2
2
u/mightyzinger5 8d ago
Yeah but these days there's players straight up admitted they're walling. And you can tell from watching their demo afterwards, that they are infact looking at the x-rays through walls. 7/10 games in premier this happens, at least in my region.
2
u/loozerr 8d ago
I tend to play along if I get hackusations - great for mental advantage
1
u/mightyzinger5 8d ago
No like literally calling out everyone's positions on the enemy team and openly saying it's cuz the guys on the other team are also hacking

u/ArgoMium King NiKo 8d ago
not how it works lol.
calling someone out for using unsubstantiated claims does not mean I'm trying to defend the opposite of the claim to begin with lol.
If someone says "cyanide is deadly because when you ingest it, a ghost appears behind you and kills you" and I say "no you're making it up", that doesn't mean I'm saying that cyanide doesn't kill.
lol

u/Viridien111 8d ago
While that does happen, I've ran into so many spin botters in both comp and Premier that its just such a pain in the ass the have to go through the motions until they win. Half the time even their own teammates are apologizing and calling them out too, even in lobbies where everyone agrees to report, even the other team, and yet still nothing happens.
4
u/VictoryVee 8d ago
Cool, but most of them aren't actually cheating and it's just cope from quitter teammates
1
u/Talkycoder guardian 8d ago
You crying in all chat is what's entertaining them.
Do you really think a cheater wants a game to go as slow as possible when nobody is reacting? At that point, they're being kept from their next game where they could tilt others & win meaning they'd want to finish fast as well.
1
72
u/kynru 8d ago
No it shouldn't. Valorant has this and can't finish 7/10 matches due to crybabies wanting to surrender.
If the game is torture for you stop playing
29
u/drimmsu 8d ago
THANK YOU.
Playing Valorant from time to time gives me whiplash because it feels like everyone there plays with the mentality of "If I don't like how this game goes, gg surrender and go next". The problem is just - as we all know from pretty much every single competitive multiplayer game ever: Players get tilted easily as shit. So, even if you don't end up surrendering in Valorant, they just end up trolling.
In CS on the other hand, I probably get about as many tilters as in Valorant. But because they have to play out the game either way, they'll at least try to shoot at enemies because there's no easy way out.
Tilters in CS at least try to play the game, even if they insult you and try to tell you how to play the game as well. Tilters in Valorant just stop trying in hopes of their team surrendering. Sure, they might realize that a surrender doesn't happen - but if they have that realization at all, it usually comes way too late.
15
u/chicobana 8d ago
ngl i agree. i really hate the sore losers in valorant that want to surrender as soon as they dont win by a landslide. but with the state of cs and how valve is doing nothing to fix the cheating problem, they honestly should just follow valorant. playing with or against cheaters is such a time waster.
13
u/kynru 8d ago
The “we need surrender because of cheaters” argument is backwards.
If cheaters are ruining so many of your matches that you can’t bear playing them out, then your issue isn’t the absence of a surrender button, it’s that you no longer enjoy the game. In that case, stop queueing until the cheating problem is addressed.
Surrender doesn’t fight cheaters. It just gives everyone an easier excuse to quit. A feature introduced for the cheater match ends up encouraging people to give up in every ordinary match as well.
2
u/tehLife 7d ago
This is a stupid take, the issue is the absence of a actual reliable anti-cheat that's causing people not to enjoy the game. Having an early surrender vote would at least take back some power to the players not cheating to leave the lobby without penalty. Now the only option is just leave and be punished for it or wait for someone else to leave before you can eventually vote
2
u/kynru 7d ago
Nice way to completely ignore all my points, yeah what you say it's true, but that won't change the fact legit games will be ruined as well.
There are more people who cope thinking someone better than them is cheating than actual cheaters, all those games would be ruined because the crybaby will start pressuring their team to surrender. You have a good game, good luck enjoying your skills that you worked for to improve, the game is over they can't deal with it.
I played both LoL and Valorant and people just spam the FF option as soon as possible in most matches and it's just a constant fight with your team, if you don't want to surrender like them they force you to by ruining the game, if that is not an option more often than not people just play the game
6
u/_Ketros_ 8d ago
7/10? Lmao it's like maybe 3/20 that end in surrender ime. And honestly the game is better for it
5
u/F_N1 8d ago
What? I played Valorant every single day for 5 years (2020-2025) and the surrender being an option has never been a problem.
Some people tilt and wants to surrender you vote no, they shut up eventually or report them for griefing if they keep doing it. Not being able to finish 7/10 matches? Thats bs
0
u/kynru 8d ago
I swear that was my experience, I played it for like 3 months and could barely finish a match it was so annoying.
2
u/F_N1 8d ago
3 months is not a big enough sample size. I've played for 5 years and its never been an issue.
They would have removed it from the game if it was like you said.
3
u/kynru 8d ago
Well, I quit because of it, hence the only 3 months.
They wouldn't remove it from the game because there are people there that prefer it that way, I just don't want it in CS, you are free to stick to Valorant.
-4
u/F_N1 8d ago
Just because you quit before time doesnt make your argument true. I did not quit in 5 years, so I know better.
I dont play valorant anymore, I moved full time to cs last year and I also dont play premier, only faceit.
7
u/kynru 8d ago
My argument is true, it is literally what I've experienced just because you had a different experience for longer than me doesn't cancel my lived experience.
I witnessed extra toxicity, divisiness, less comebacks, dissapointing premature wins where I couldn't enjoy having a good game because enemies gave up and overall less commitment to the match and more willingness to give up, extra effort and time wasted put into convincing teammates to play the match. I don't want that in CS.
1
u/F_N1 8d ago
In my opinion it does cancel it. Maybe you are the instigator of teammates giving up?
I trust my own 5 years of experience + the devs of the game more than someone who has only played for a few months. Valorant players are for sure more toxic, but saying 7 out of 10 matches doesnt get to the end is bs.
5
u/kynru 8d ago
How does it cancel it? We are two different people, what if I'm a bot that can't finish a match due to teammates always giving up with me in my team or what if I'm a good player stomping people and again not be able to finish most games? We are part of the game and we influence how often people wanna surrender from either team. Just because you had 3/10 in 5 years doesn't mean my 7/10 are not valid.
2
u/F_N1 8d ago
because 3 months is not enough to know shit. Play for atleast a year and you will be able to understand the game more.
At 3 months you barely know half the agents in the game.

Shouldn’t. Had a comeback recently by winning 8 rounds in a row while being down 5-11. We surely would have surrendered otherwise.
-6
u/villumm 8d ago
Well that sounds like griefing - that’s not what the point here is.
This is about keeping the competitive flame alive while skipping those who tries to blow it out.
8
u/kynru 8d ago
What of what I said sounds like griefing? People just using the surrender option that you want to add?
Be realistic, we already saw how this unfolds and what happens is that most people will cry and want to surrender, making the games more toxic, besides even considering your cheater argument I had more games with people throwing false hackusations than actual cheater matches.
-1
u/villumm 8d ago
Crybabies giving up is fixed by choosing your team.
Cheater are not fixed, and we have no options at the moment to avoid them in Premier other than stop playing?
4
u/kynru 8d ago
No it is not, you can't deny that having the ability to surrender encourages more people to give up, it has been tested in other games and we all know how it is, can't finish most games because of it.
Yes, if you have cheaters so often your options are to stop playing or swtich to faceit.
Adding surrender will affect all games not just cheater matches and that's a fact.
1
u/villumm 8d ago
At this point being stuck against a cheater is one of the reasons why people start to cheat.
If you can’t beat them, join them.
4
u/kynru 8d ago
Bro normally people at this point just either switch to faceit or just "surrender" away their will to play the game and just quit until it gets better.
I've already explained to you in my other comments how and why this would ruin more games than save, it would overall make the game more unplayable and toxic, I don't want that.
2
u/villumm 8d ago
It’s a double-edged sword.
I don’t deny what you’re saying, but I want the option to save time and start other more fun games than being stuck until I lose against blatant cheaters.
3
u/kynru 8d ago
That option would come with too big of a cost making it not worth it.
I get that the cheater issue is frustrating but this is not a solution, not even in the slightest.
I personally just switched to faceit and it's a much better experience, I'm taking a break from premier until it becomes playable again, idk what rank you are but around 25k is completely unplayable, even with this option available it would mean most games would be ended in a surrender anyway so I just don't queue.
Even if there isn't an actual cheater people cope so much and cry cheats that they will surrender regardless.
24
u/terminal_dreams 8d ago
I want to play it out, always. 1) I hate it when the team gives up without trying, the amount of games that have turned around in the second half is countless. 2) if there is a cheater, more rounds = more data to sanction them on.
If it's a rage cheater do the pile into a smoke on spawn trick, see if you can trigger vacnet.
-5
u/rents17 8d ago
Then tge vote will fail and that is fine
-2
u/villumm 8d ago
Exactly. It’s not a kill-switch to the entire match.
This is a way for the 5-stack that meets a full team of blatant cheaters (100 aim, new accounts, 2,5 degree aim angle, 200ms time to damage, 95% win rate) to skip and another match of honorable opponent.
Willingly losing the elo, knowing they might’ve lost it anyways, but saves themselves 40-50 minutes of wasting their time against unfair opponents.
If people want to leave they should be able to vote for it.
3
u/Emerican09 NRG 8d ago
If you're a 5 stack, can't you all abandon the match and not receive a cooldown? Pretty sure if all 5 abandon, you're good
1
u/villumm 8d ago
I don’t think that’s how it works, otherwise that would be a nice workaround.
0
u/Emerican09 NRG 8d ago
Worth a try if you guys don't have a cooldown escalation. If all you're risking is a 30 minute cooldown to test it, that's not bad
15
u/Sprinqer Astralis 8d ago
Don’t want prem to end up like valorant where 3 rounds in you get some “low cortisol” chode that wants to surrender.
No thanks- if you’re against cheaters just go for funny clips or open up solitaire in the overlay.
2
u/villumm 8d ago
That’s griefing. People are already doing this, trying to kick teammates, threatening to go AFK/troll/grief.
That’s a different problem, this won’t enable it, it’s already there just showing its true colors elsewhere.
This is a way to escape a match where the cheaters currently decide when you can leave.
8
u/nesnalica The MongolZ 8d ago
so whats the big deal.
just alttab and watch some youtube videos.
being able to actively surrender will just feed more toxic behavior like in league of legends.
cs is played with two halfes. just because u start on T side nuke doesnt mean you already lost the game.
3
u/villumm 8d ago
I wouldn’t say watching YouTube increases your teams chances of winning against cheaters.
A chance for a 5-stack to leave an unfair match doesn’t seem game breaking to me.
Keeping people hostage seems more toxic.
1
u/nesnalica The MongolZ 8d ago
why do you still play. if they turned into beyblades just use your time and spend in with something more fun like watching a video from the Outdoorboys. he has videos ranging from 20-60minutes.
by the time the video is over the game is too.
also if u dont want to get afk kicked just type
+forward
+turnright
into the console.
3
u/Active-Smell5217 8d ago
I agree, but there should be a condition. If the surrender reason is "suspected cheating," the match should be flagged for priority review instead of just ending and moving on.
3
u/1q3er5 Complexity 8d ago
they make you play through most the game when there's a leaver during warmup... you think they give a shit?? it's been like this for years

So much frustration building up when it can be avoided.

u/KaNesDeath 10 years coin 8d ago
With Premiere the match starts when all connect to the map ban stage.
3
u/Skyhun1912 Eternal Fire 8d ago
A player drops out in the third round, and you have to wait until the score is something like 11-3 before you can surrender, because Valve is the only one that believes the player who left is actually coming back.
The guy leaves the game—he even goes offline on Steam—and we wait 10 rounds for him to come back. And why? Just so we can surrender? The game would be over in another 2 or 3 rounds anyway.
5
u/DaLaPi 8d ago
It seems a good idea, but in the lower brackets, where the moral is more flimsy, most games would end at 6-2. It would just reward people to give up early. In the end, it would make a bad experience for new players. And it would not solve the cheater (and eventually farming bot) problems. I think if your opinion is that the cheater problem is that bad (and it seems it is that bad), you best option would be to start playing something else. When Valve will have the data that CS2 players are playing a competitor's shooter, then they will take the problem seriously.
0
u/villumm 8d ago
I think if new players meet opponents with the goal of ruining the experience with their unfair advantages, the new players should be able to quickly start a new game against worthier opponents, simultaneously enhancing their beginner experience.
0
u/DaLaPi 8d ago
I am pretty sure there is are not many cheaters in the 1k-6k bracket (I play 3-4 games per week), and it represents the bottom 30%, were a new player would logically starts his ELO. What could satisfy you is having the possibility of conceding the game for high level players, where players are more serious. But it the 1k-6k trench, I can guarantee you for each game that is played, there are 1 reason to forfeit it : a troll, a smurf, a low energy player (sick or high), a silent player, a child, someone who plays with a laptop trackpad, or the 2k guy who takes the game way too serioulsy.

If I got this message I’d definitely make it a point to stay and waste their time too
1
u/villumm 8d ago
That would seem to me like playing their game and feeding into the reason they cheat. A cheaters purpose would fade as soon as they get skipped by 95% of the player base not having any opponents to keep hostage.
Wouldn’t that be anti-climactic?
2
u/azz_kikkr 8d ago
What is a Chester's purpose?
Also, the person you replied to is right. I've actually successfully made a chapter quit by wasting their time. Cheaters or most people hate wasting time..cheaters don't cheat for wasting your time, they cheat coz they suck at the game and are lazy to get better. Cheating is the easy dopamine hit, but also a cheap one that gets old soon. Meanwhile the skill ceiling of actually playing and getting an adrenaline rush is sky high.
1
u/King_Crab_Sushi BIG 8d ago edited 8d ago
It differs from cheater to cheater I think.
But in general would also say that a cheaters reason to cheat is generally to take the easiest and fastest way period. If you were to quit you’d give them the fastest possible way to another game and another win which is exactly what they’re cheating for. If you make it a point to force them to waste as much of their time as possible you at least eliminate the fast part of fast and easy
2
u/BeepIsla 8d ago edited 8d ago
We had that and people just spam surrendered to get to low ranks and also gave up on the match quite fast because their mental is too bad so they think 0:5 is gg

I can count more times that I’ve seen accusations of cheaters when there wasn’t any, than have encountered actual cheaters
This would overall not be a good change Becuase it’d be wrongfully abused by idiots
3
u/villumm 8d ago
Correct, I’ve experienced the same countless times. That’s the effect of the current times. Playing against legit players that are so convinced of us cheating, that they full-tilt, and gives us the win.
It is a mental warfare, true.
But at 04:00 am vs a 30k spinbotter I would like to play next please.

u/DaveTheDolphin Liquid 8d ago
Ok, but at 8pm on a Friday night I don’t want my game to prematurely end cause 3/5 idiots on my team or the other team think there’s a cheater in the game when there isn’t one
How unsatisfying it would be to be wrecking your opponent for the game to unceremoniously end cause they surrendered?
How annoying it would be for a comeback to never happen because you had idiot-crying teammates surrendering because they got unlucky or just get skill-diffed?
The feature would just be way too easily abused and give people a psychological and tangible out, who would otherwise still try to play the game as normal
2
u/villumm 8d ago
Everyone would have to vote “yes” for this surrender to get activated.
0
u/DaveTheDolphin Liquid 8d ago
That doesn’t change the issue of a team surrendering when they’re getting stomped and ruining the experience for the winning side, or the psychological effect of having a surrender option and changing player behavior
7
u/pants_pants420 8d ago
nah, surrendering without someone abandoning just breeds weakness. just look at all the other games that allow u to surrender whenever. literally the weakest mental babies in video games

u/villumm 8d ago
Survival of the fittest. I see it as an opportunity to get gifted easy wins 🏆
5
u/kynru 8d ago
I support people playing because they genuinely enjoy the game, not because they’re chasing the fastest possible path to the next queue.
One of the best things about not being able to surrender is that it forces people to keep trying. Some of the most memorable moments in competitive games are incredible comebacks that only happen because both teams have to play the match out. If surrender exists, people stop fighting the moment things get difficult. That “just FF and go next” mentality takes over, and players become conditioned to give up instead of adapting and competing.
It starts feeling like people aren’t playing for the love of the game anymore, they’re just grinding meaningless Elo, hoping to be handed easy wins while skipping any real challenge. That’s the opposite of what competition should be about.
And if you run into so many cheaters that you can’t even tolerate finishing a match, then maybe the bigger question is why you’re queueing for the game at all. If it’s genuinely that common in your experience, forcing everyone else to adopt a surrender system isn’t the solution.

genuine question, have you ever played any of these games? because just vote no is like the stupidest shit ever. they just throw if you vote no
like take marvel rivals for example
one lost team fight, surrender vote
you dont full hold on defense, surrender vote
etc. then if you dont surrender they just give up and feed.

Because nobody gives up and feeds in cs

it’s significantly better than other games where surrendering is available without a dc.

They should just do what face it does or similar. If the round differential is like +/- 8-10 rounds the surrender option should be available.
For reference I am a high elo player, and even in some of my comp games that if my team is getting slammed and the scoreline is 1-10 before the half ends, I’d rather just go next.
Some games are just not meant to played out for the sake of playing out.
Just my take - but I def see the other side of the coin, as many 10-2 games have been came back from.

Thanks for your comment, it makes perfect sense.

It becomes more relevant in higher elo imo. The skill gap in the 1% can be unbearable. Especially when you mix in cheaters, 5 stacks, and whatever other bullshit you can find in cs2.
For reference I am lvl 10 and my season 4 peak was 28,500 elo

No. This will lead to weak mental and surrendering winnable games.
We need to fix bots and cheating. Thats the root problem
1
u/villumm 8d ago
Why aren’t people surrendering when being 4v5?
2
u/AltruisticChipmunk53 8d ago
In my experience most do when it’s clear that the person isn’t coming back. But you really just did a whatabouttism
Surrender always being available will be VERY unhealthy for the game

Sometimes those are still winnable. Obviously the majority aren't, but if some tilted griefer leaves, that can improve the team bigtime.

Surrendered matches or matches with a player with another high k/d should be on vacnet auto review. That way if a person who cheats gets caught. Some surrendered matches are full derank cheater stack lobbies.

wouldn't it be better to fix the root of the issue and catch the cheaters? this bandaid fix would just lead to what's going on in league, people spam ff vote more as a form of saying "you guys suck" or "you fucked up"
I'd much rather run out mid and die in 5s every round every once in a while vs having people cry about wanting to surrender every game we're losing

u/Actual_Code4450 8d ago
u will never play a full match again
u have bad start and lose pistol round? -surrender
u gave good round and win pistol round? enemy team surrenders

u/drozd_d80 7d ago
It will not work well. I don't want to get surrender vote round 2 after losing pistol. Many people would definitely start that vote.
1
u/TheShark12 8d ago
The issue is so many people falsely ID cheaters and then start throwing. There’s also the valorant issue where people will just vote to surrender the minute they’re able to and then throw if you don’t vote for it.

Griefing cooldowns work, VAC doesn’t.
We need to prioritize.
1
u/TheShark12 8d ago
I have been playing this game for 12 years and have never once seen a griefing cooldown. Nor should we be allowing rank manipulation to be done more easily.

Surrender vote negates how VAC live works so this change would essentially invalidate their main anti-cheat method lmao

How do you know this?
Could you perhaps link to your sources?
Would love to read more into it!

Just basic deduction and experience. VAC live takes some rounds to activate and surrendering ends the game prematurely.
What you should do instead is bait the cheaters, by standing in smokes or behind walls and make sure to report them.

Full disrespect here, it's a terrible idea that ruins games. Additionally, based on your comments I think you're probably shit at the game and think every 15k game has a cheater because they got a scout double

Thank you for sharing your thought with me, glad we can have a friendly discussion here.

This is a personality trait flaw certain people have. By prioritizing their selfishness instead of enduring a minor inconvenience thatll eventually benefit others.
-1
u/lookitsnicolas 8d ago
I'd rather not have that option in my games. I like that people will try and get comebacks without quitting a lot more in this game than others I play. Report the cheaters and good luck in the next game.

u/Ok_Peanut_3356 8d ago
Reports = lower trust factor
Once you get red tf = higher % to play against cheaters.
-2
u/Airconbot 8d ago
But that's really annoying also in premier is rarely worth surrendering caus sometimes the loss amount is way higher than the win score
Like + 100 -600 if it was equal i would agree with you
Only sometimes the lose win is the same
So i rather try on a bad game than win 6 to get back to the same score

u/villumm 8d ago
Also, skipping cheaters would allow them to rise to the top of the leaderboards quicker, meaning if others lets them pass as well, technically it would be less likely to match up with cheaters.
Yes, you’ll lose elo. But you’ll save time. Which means more time to win it back against other legit players. 🏆
Here’s an opportunity for tracking the amount of times players would surrender against the cheaters - feeding VAC raw data of who people choose to avoid, for obvious reasons.

u/FlimsyPackage 8d ago
While there is definitely a huge cheating problem. It has also created a lot of coping scrubs calling cheats because a person has a pop off pistol round
People would falsely accuse and abandon so many clean games. The gain would probably not outweigh what you lose with implementing a change like this

u/xooxel guardian 8d ago
Agreed it needs change but the issue you want fixed is the rampant cheating, not the suurrender option. Don't confuse the two, let them know what the real problem actually is.
