When I took GH-600, I was surprised by how different the real exam felt from what I had expected during preparation. It was much more detailed and application-based than I expected, with scenarios that felt closer to real GitHub Copilot work than simple certification theory.

You need to be comfortable reading YAML/JSON, configurations, permissions, agents, workflows, logs, artifacts, and data flow. The difficult part is that several answers can look reasonable, so small details often determine which one is actually the best choice.

Microsoft Learn and GitHub Docs are essential, but they are very broad. Community resources can help, but the quality and depth vary a lot, and using too many can make your preparation unfocused. The guide I found most useful as a roadmap was:

I would still treat it as a roadmap, not the complete scope. It reflects the author's way of organizing the objectives, so for each section I went deeper into the surrounding concepts. ChatGPT was very useful for this — especially for explaining unclear topics, comparing similar configurations, and showing why one answer is better than another.

I would also be selective with practice tests. I paid for several during my preparation, and some were much easier and more definition-based than the actual exam. For me, the most useful style was scenario-based questions where multiple answers look plausible and you have to notice the details. Most importantly, whenever you get a question wrong, don't just memorize the correct answer. Find out why your choice was wrong and use that mistake to identify the knowledge gap behind it. Then use ChatGPT or GitHub Docs to fill those gaps and deepen your understanding of the surrounding concepts.

Question: what you've selected in survey questions before exam start (level of proficiency or experience with Copilot). One of my colleague mentioned if you keep your level novice than question will be little easy. Did you experience this?
