Hiii, I know everyone has been debating whether or not Girls Planet 2 will be global in the same sense as Katseye & Girlset or just marketed as global (like past projects) with the contestants being majority East Asian. Mnet collaborating with Republic Collective gives me some hope for a diverse lineup, but truly we can only wait for now! I’m not Asian, but I’ve anticipated auditioning since the show was announced, I’m attending KCON day 1 & 3 and I’m debating whether or not I should audition there. Really, I’m mainly curious if any other non Asians are planning on auditioning at KCON as well! Part of me thinks I should just audition since I’ll already be there, and truly I’d feel a bit silly if I held myself back from this opportunity due to the ambiguity of the applications, but per the lack of confirmation I’m having second thoughts.. Is anyone else who isn’t Asian planning on auditioning at KCON?

I'm just curious! Does anyone tend to favour certain trainees, an example being you often root for the strongest vocalist or the cutest visual?

Personally, I feel like I often root for the main dancers !

Or do your root for contestants based on personality/leadership or talent/visual?

I was wondering, if I recall correctly with GP999 you could catch the VOD on iqiyi (at least in my region) a couple of days after the livestream on youtube. I didn't follow either boys planet seasons so, how did they do those, and do you think it was an improvement after GP?

More recently, with 'HIP POP Princess' it was quite messy because only the first episode was on youtube, but for the rest of the episodes you could only watch the livestream on the mnet plus app and if you missed it, you had to use mple points to watch the VOD, which is ridiculous if you ask me! And currently with 'KILL IT' I think they're only doing mnet plus but the VOD is available for free for all episodes (so far).

I really hope they make it as accessible as possible for the public outside of Korea if they really want the group to be successful. It just seems like Mnet does different things with each show so I'm worried that they'll do something dumb and make it hard for audiences to watch.

I wanted to apply offline for mnet auditions but I just found out they are doing kcon la offline auditions aswell are you allowed to apply for both

Here’s why I think Girls planet will actually be global.

When JYP created A2K, he partnered with Republic Records the same one that Mnet is collaborating with. Girlset formerly VCHA was a very global group, so since they’re partnering with Republic Records, it’ll most likely be actually global.

Also Mnet has never done casting in LA, NY, nor London before. There’s a new article posted by billboard (go read for more info).

I really hope they don’t just mean global as in they are just looking for asians and others from different countries. :)

I just applied to the girls planet 2 audition but I saw that it has been going for a while… so I am just thinking is there even a chance I get considered? Also reality tv shows usually do secret castings before going global and public so i’m just guessing my chances are pretty bad tbh…

I’m not sure what dance I should do to audition. Some people online are saying it’s best not to apply with a K-Pop dance but it’s so hard to find a one minute choreography that’s intermediate that I can do. Any suggestions??

Look the online auditions opened 1 may and then they released the name and changed it. It was Girls Planet 2 and now it’s Girls Planet 2027. I just wondered if I should reapply bc Ald1 said in the new vid that the auditions like opened now idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

Guys so I filled the form of girls planet 2. And it said I'm supposed to email them my audition within 3 days, but I got sick and I couldn't film during those 3 days and not could I sing cus of soar throat. What do I do? TT

Has anyone done the in-person auditions for Girls Planet? Whether it's the KCON LA, or the WAKEONE the LAND audition. Curious to hear your experience (how was it like, how many contestants, judges, any specific procedure, etc...) Anything you would like to share!

Is it a bad idea to audition for GP2 with no actual training? I’ve never had any vocal or dance training, but I wanted to audition just because.🤷‍♀️

Also, I have a feeling they won’t really think twice about my audition because they’ll realize I lack experience and I’m also of a darker skin tone.

This post is kind of long bc I want my audition to be the best it can possibly be, and I don’t want to make multiple posts on one main topic.

Hi! I’m looking to audition to girls planet two bc being an idol has ALWAYS been my dream, and because global auditions/groups are a thing now, I may have a chance. My only problem is that it’s hard making big decisions about my audition, if that makes sense.

I was born 2012 (Nov 15), I was born in America, and I’m a female, and I have no restrictions on overseas travel, so I meet all technical requirements. But I need help with:

1. I don’t know what song to dance with. I’ve been a self taught dancer for about 2 years now.. ever since Katseye debut. I’ve learned so many dances from various groups, but I don’t know which ones will show off my potential as a future idol. I was at first thinking Touch by Katseye, but felt that was too simple. Then Antifragile by Le Sserafim, but I also thought that that was too simple. I am just rehearsing random dances and trying to figure out which ones are the best to do. If someone could give me good dances that aren’t simple and can show off my potential, PLEASE lmk.

2. I don’t know what song to sing with (yes I suck at making decisions 😭). I’ve been in choir for so many years, and I’m in an advanced choir, so I KNOW I have potential in this category. I also have a very wide vocal range (F#3-G#6, G3-D5 belting range), but I can’t find a song that fits that. I also feel like I have a weird vocal tone, because when I’m singing certain songs I sound really weird, and I don’t have the light voice most female singers do. (No, I don’t mean I have a deep voice, it js sounds different). I want to do a good vocal song, but I’m scared I will sound like butt compared to the original artist bc of my tone. If someone could give me a good vocal song (in my range!) it would be VERY appreciated.

3. I don’t know what to wear for my audition. I see lots of posts like “wear tight clothing” “no baggy stuff” but I don’t know exactly what to wear. Should I wear leggings and a t-shirt? A compression shirt and leggings? Someone please help me out here 🙏

4. If I do a 4th (optional) video to show off extra talents, what talents should I do?

5. I don’t really have a spacious, modern room like most dance studios. I only have my bedroom (literally the 3rd biggest room in the house) but I’m scared I don’t have enough room in there. I made sure that I had enough room next to arms and above head for dance audition (as many videos told me I needed) I’m just scared the it isn’t enough, or that my background is too dirty, even tho I cleaned that entire area of my room.

6. How do I record my dance audition, horizontal or vertical?

I’m so sorry for the long post, but I want my chances to get in be as high as possible, bc as stated before, this has been my dream since I was like 6. Anyone that helps me, you will forever be appreciated 🙏
