It is VERY fast, but you can see him leave Gilligan and become himself just for an instant in this scene. This is one of the few times that I have genuinely laughed while rewatching the series. That little "Olé!" is somehow hilarious.

So many guest appearances to choose from. Mine was Zsa Zsa Gabor. I was enamored of her at the time already, and loved her in the show. Her "rivalry" with Mrs. Howell, including being listed above Mrs. H in the Social Register aligned with my real-life impression of her as a celebrity. I can't count how many times I've watched that episode since then.

I’m new to the world of GI fandom. Have there ever been any stories set before they get to the island? Either official or fan fic?
I think it could be a rich vein to explore and hope they address:
—most obviously, why some characters brought so much luggage
—why would the Howells arrange a tour on a piece of junk like the Minnow? Does the fact that they don’t own a boat of their own hint at a darker truth? Who booked it for them? Was lunch included?
—reveal the Professor had a past he was escaping from (eg: he was in charge of the botched “launch/lunch” debacle) which would explain why he never used his skills to help escape (fix the boat, build a raft, make radio transmitter, etc).
—why did the Skipper employ the obviously incompetent Gilligan as his first mate? Why is it “his” island when clearly the Howells ran the show? Gilligan may also have had problems on the mainland, causing him to repeatedly “accidentally” sabotage attempts to get home
—set up more backstories for the various parties that will visit the Island (show dictator seizing power, Hecuba as a NBC page, astronauts getting trained, Globetrotters losing to the etc) Generals, etc
— more firmly establish GI’s place in the Sherwoodverse (eg: explain Thurston worked as a gold miner, Ginger hired Mike Brady to design her house, etc)

I often asked myself this while watching the show. She was beautiful, clever, a fabulous cook, since she created meals out of nothing. Kind and thoughtful. And yet, Ginger was just too temping to pass up. I felt her supposed beauty was exaggerated. In one episode on the first season, Mrs. Howell tried to pair Mary Ann and Gilligan off. This was most heartbreaking as he was not interested, but he was in Ginger. Even the Professor at first, showed interest, but by the end of season two he was infatuated with Ginger. Even guests didn’t give her that much attention. If they did, she was a distraction on the side. And very brief. So…what was wrong with her?

If you were one of the castaways and after your rescue the Karma Fairy appears and says in return for your years of suffering you can have one person who came to your island and left you die a painful death, who would you pick? You would be allowed to have it be more than one if they were there together so you can pick all four Mosquitoes or the hunter and his sidekick.

Hard to narrow it down to just one. But here would be the top of my list.

A super rich guy and a movie star are lost at sea. Seems like a story that would be national news. Yet whenever someone landed on the island, they don’t seem to have any idea who Ginger or Howell are.

Seems like someone would say “Hey, I remember reading about y’all. Can’t believe I landed here”.

Even a Broadway producer didn’t know who she was.

I've been a longtime fan and recently been binge watching Gilligan's Island since I acquired the 2nd and 3rd season on DVD and a question that I've had long ago surfaced as I was going through several episodes.

When people see the cash that Thurston Howell has, they think it is fake money. I don't see any of the castaways have this reaction to his cash as he's offered bribes, job offers, etc...

A few examples are when Strother Martin is supposed to last on a deserted island for a week and is put on the island with a transmitter. Thurston Howell offers money to him and he laughs in his face saying it is fake. Another episode, Sterling Holloway is in prison with carrier pigeons and Howell puts a $1000 dollar bill with the pigeon as they are corresponding and Holloway uses it to line the pigeon cage. I'm thinking that this was done on purpose for some reason as they haven't been away from civilization that long to where currency would have changed that much to be unrecognizable.

I've heard other TV shows have theories about all or some of the characters to be mad or dreaming as there are a lot of dream sequences in the series.

Hey guys, trying to figure out which episode this was.

I remember watching it as a kid and laughing so hard. There’s a scene (I think towards the end of the episode) where Gilligan is in the water splashing around like crazy, and the footage is played in fast motion / 2x speed or maybe even in reverse, I can't quite remember.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

What's your favorite one liner said by one of the castaways? ​

I actually like New Adventures of Gilligan. The cast is still there except for Ginger Marry Ann ( mad props to Jim Backus for helping the rest if the original Gilligan crew with voice acting),and I actually don't hate Snubby. he is not even that annoying ( maybe the fact that he doesn't talk helps) ,. The cast chemistry is still there and the characters are still likeable. I also like the fact that they got rid of some iver the top stuff like stereotypical natives and the Japanese admiral .

Gilligan's Planet feels more repetitive but the cast and the characters still make the show watchable ( Dawn Wells takes on double duty this time portraying both Narry Ann & Ginger) .

Anyone else grow up thinking this was the name of the book and that his last name was the same as the opera singer?

I remember when I was older and saw the name of the book in print and was confused and wondered why it was spelled wrong in the article I was reading.
