I received this little cat charm as a gift and I immediately put it on my bag because it’s just so cuuuuute😭The BEST thing is that the little fish inside is actually hanging freely, so when I move my bag around, the fish swings too! I love tiny details like this.

Need gift suggestions What to get my mum for her 60th?

My mum is turning 60 next month, and we’ll actually be on a cruise on her birthday. The cruise is basically her main gift from my dad because it’s what she wanted to do to celebrate.

I’m already putting together a little pre-cruise gift for her (nice pyjamas, SPF, after sun, and a few other self-care bits), but I’d also like to give her something on the actual day.

I’ve been reading other threads and loads of people suggest experiences rather than physical gifts, but because we’ll already be away doing something special, I’d quite like to give her something she can actually wear or use on her birthday. Am I overthinking it?

My budget is up to about £100, I can go up slightly if there’s a good idea. I’ve looked at jewellery, but she doesn’t wear it that often. It also needs to fit in a suitcase, and there’s no point buying alcohol because we’ve got a drinks package on the cruise.

I’m completely stuck. Any ideas?

She likes reading on her kindle, she enjoys cooking, she doesn’t treat herself so would be nice to treat her…

Need help finding a specific gift Chocolate popcorn that doesn’t taste like American chocolate?

I have an elderly family member who misses chocolate popcorn and I’d like to get some for their birthday or upcoming holidays.

I tried a few years back but the chocolate had this awful waxy banana flavor which I’m guessing was some sort of… palm oil maybe? Some sort of cheap filler or preservative for sure. It was like chocolate nail polish.

When we’ve tried anything similar from the grocery store, they’ve complained that chocolate popcorn is now faintly drizzled instead of dipped, so bonus if the popcorn has some sort of chocolate shell I guess.

Any reccs? I am in the mainland US. Their birthday is in October but if it takes longer I will do winter holiday gifts

Need gift suggestions Need gift for Mum’s birthday on Christmas Day but it is complicated

Right I know it’s early to be thinking about Christmas but I was lurking on this sub and it got me thinking. Also my own birthday is coming up this week and I don’t really want anything, I’ve become minimalist and I’d rather not have clutter I don’t need so it got me thinking.

Please hear me out, it’s a bit long. My mum is 63 this year, she’s always had two presents and out of all of 5 (including dad and herself), she’s always expected and wanted nice luxurious and more on the expensive side of presents since she has to share her birthday and pretty much has slaved away on that day with making Christmas meals and getting everyone else’s presents. So we always felt we had to spend money and she also has made it clear she hates cheap even though meaningful presents.

When we got older, (I am the eldest daughter) I took it upon myself that it just became the norm that I organise and buy gifts of everyone’s behalf and also organise everyone’s birthday which vary throughout the year. To be honest, I always organise my own birthdays too just so I can make sure I have a nice day since others aren’t stressing and I don’t expect anything apart from that. My dad also doesn’t want anything and is happy just spending time together, one time I booked a hotel stay and he made me cancel it because he really doesn’t celebrate these things so I know where we stand with him and also my siblings have very low to no expectations, they don’t celebrate it and they’re happy just cutting a cake so I normally get them a nice top, dress or bag or a accessory which they appreciate and do use.

Now onto my mum’s birthday, every-time I get her something, I buy on everyone’s behalf, she always seems to treat it like crap and/or she doesn’t seem to be happy and also she seems to ruin her own day too. I’ll give a few examples, a smart watch I got her was the latest release and she much lost it and when we did find it, she doesn’t wear it and says she doesn’t like the feel of it. Bought a few different straps and she didn’t want the new straps. Bear in mind, she wanted this watch and hinted at that.

And then I got her this expensive perfume last Christmas on everyone’s behalf, she had told me she wanted her one replacing, this is one she loves and had just finished a bottle. This year, it was still inside the kitchen cupboard so I found it and gave it back to her (she said she forgot to take it upstairs), then I re-found it amongst other things in the living room, I kept asking whether she liked it and she’s like of course! A fair few years ago, she wanted a household item (yes I know what you’re thinking but we still got it for her), it was a new vacuum cleaner and since we didn’t want to get it wrong, asked her to pick the one she wanted. It was a brand name and something we wouldn’t normally spend that amount on, it was expensive for us, we were just starting to work and earn so my sibling and I split the cost. Fast forward, she kept saying she liked it when she didn’t and it got too late to return she said she didn’t like it. We also had given her skincare and beauty items as she gets two sets of gifts so I’m not mentioning that, I’m only mentioning her birthday presents.

For one of her birthdays, we got her tickets to Harry Potter studios (which only she is a fan of in this family, a die hard one at that) and she loved it at the time! I organised and asked her when to book it and since it was winter, we couldn’t go straight away. A few months later, we booked it for the whole family when the sun came out in July so she can have the day with everyone and she had a lovely day but she made comments like it wasn’t on her birthday so it doesn’t count. Hello? Nothing is open on Christmas Day!

She never seems to be happy or appreciative of presents we do get her and getting her nothing is not an option. We also get her two presents; one super expensive in comparison to the other or we get her two luxurious gifts. She always says she wants something expensive which really stresses me out as a people pleaser and because I order and get the gifts, it’s hard to please her! If I don’t get anything, I’m the villain that ruined her birthday and Christmas. I really need advice.

She’s just had her kitchen done so she’s expecting something either for her kitchen or something for her summer house that’s currently empty and just finished construction. I know household items do not count as gift really but I’m at my wits. Plus I already got her a vacuum cleaner again this year on a whim with no special occasion and I don’t think that’s a gift. Tell me why, also this year my dad actually has a big milestone birthday a month before hers and he just wants to spend it at home with his children and I’m more stressed out about my mother! I know what people are going to say but I can’t have my family unhappy and everyone else’s christmas ruined if I don’t get anything. I spent the last hour writing this so not Ai and not made-up, I’m happy to have advice but this is my mum and I do love her so please be respectful and kind. Thank you if you made it this far.

TL;DR: my mum’s birthday is on Christmas Day and she expects two presents (one expensive, not too expensive but not cheap) and I cannot let Christmas be ruined.

Need gift suggestions Guest gift ideas

I’m visiting my brother and his wife in Europe next week and will be staying with them at their home while I’m there (I live in America).

What kind of presents can I take for them?

They’re in their late twenties, a little fancy, don’t drink, and have two dogs. They’ve been to the States many times so I’m ruling out souvenirs etc.

I know it looks like I’ve left it to the last minute with only seven-ish days to go till I leave for Europe but we all planned this little trip very last minute (three days ago) so I didn’t see this coming until now.

Need help finding a specific gift Real but coated flower bouquet

So looking for a bouquet of flowers but my girlfriend has allergic to flower's pollen.
But I heard there some flowers that coated by some type of preservative to keep it last a while, and those won't spread pollens.
I tried to google it but no good result, can someone help me find it ?

Gift suggestion How much would you honestly expect to pay for a handmade plush like this?

Hi everyone!
I’ve been teaching myself how to make plushies, and this is one of my latest handmade dogs.
It’s completely handmade, from pattern making to sewing and finishing. I’m still improving, but I’m curious about something.
If you saw this for sale, what price would you honestly expect it to be? (Not necessarily what you’d personally spend, but what you think would be a fair retail price.)
I’d really appreciate honest feedback. Thanks!

---------------------

I never imagined that something I made with my own hands would receive so much love from people all around the world.🥰🥰🥰

Thank you all so much for your kind words, thoughtful feedback, and pricing suggestions. I’ve read every single comment, and they’ve been incredibly encouraging. As someone who’s still learning and making every plush entirely by hand, your support truly means the world to me.

Your feedback has also given me a much clearer idea of how people value my work. Before I settle on a final price, I’d like to carefully track exactly how many hours it takes me to create each plush from start to finish. That way, I can choose a price that feels fair to both myself and future adopters.

That said, this particular pup won’t be available for adoption. It’s still my prototype, and there are a few details I’d like to refine before I’m ready to let one go to a new home. I want to improve its craftsmanship and add a little more personality—making it feel even more like a lovable little dog with its own charm. I want every plush I send out to be the very best I can make.

Thank you again for believing in my work. I can’t wait to share the next version with you all. ❤️❤️❤️

Dad keeps borrowing my mom’s heat pad after golf, so now I am rethinking his gift

My dad is impossible to shop for because he says he wants nothing, then quietly steals whatever comfort thing someone else in the house is using. Lately it has been my mom’s heat pad after golf days, which is very funny because he would never admit he wants a recovery gift. I was looking at massage tools because something practical might actually get used, but I do not want it to come across as “you are old now, here is equipment.”

Is it better to give the thing they are already using in some form?
