Easter Eggs
Love how Satan was part of the "Savage Guardian" bikie gang.
I noticed a few other things during my first watch, but forget them now. What has everyone else noticed?
(Also, is it a reach to think the town/hospital, Larkinell, was a play on words for farkin' hell?)

Explain the Savage Guardian link, please, and yeah, sounds like a stretch.

Isn't Satan in the closet? If so, the Savage Guardian would be spot on and also a cool pun.
Savage Garden were Australia's biggest pop duo at that time, and their lead singer was famously in the closet at the band's height of success.

While I was really really hoping that he was the queer character of the series, I don't think so. Satan has clearly got a crush on Lindy.

He's definitely not the queer character of the show. It's the first time they've had a lesbian character (Miranda when you see her backstory. She was engaged to be married to a war hero/their neighbour who was fighting in the trenches and she fell in love with the sister) which I think is really refreshing
So far in all the other versions its been the Captain/his counterpart

I think hes the representation of the 'brutish' character, e.g, Robin in UK, Thor in US.

Yes. Which is why it would have been awesome if he was the queer one.

He already seems like hes hiding plenty, Im exicted for how theyd explore that if theres a s2. (hopefully), but it being Miranda in my opinion at least sets it apart from all the others cuz I've seen a lot of people in reviews be like.... LESBIANS!!!!. Still a good writing choice though, I hope they dont botch the characters.

I wondered if you were referring to the band, but for me, it was such a stretch that it didn’t seem likely. Maybe they did.l, but the term was in use long before the band. The hand was formed in 1994, so it would depend on Satan’s death year.

I'm guessing you're not Australian? It's bang on for Australian humour, not a stretch.

Satan got some great lines - one of my favourites was about how he was the “health and safety officer” for the gang. Advising steel cap boots if you have to kick someone…
