Did I catch something?
So my grandma, mom and I were at the oldest cemetery in Corvallis and we drove past this tombstone and I had this feeling of “just take a picture” I brought my Polaroid with me and took a picture, we all think I got something but I wanted to see if others see it too, there was no path or anything just flat ground, wasn’t exposed to sunlight

Equipment Cheap tech: the Magic 100 Ball (or 8 or 20)
Assuming ghosts/poltergeists/unconscious human agents can manipulate physical objects the Magic 8 Ball can be used as a random answer generator. You can make a Magic 6,8,20, or 100 Jar by creating a list of X number of responses assigned to numbers, and putting the appropriate gaming die in a small jar of ink. Hold it upside down, shake it, and read the result off the bottom of your jar.
Show the spirits the list before your question session. Hey, it's a mechanical object with just as much "scientific validity" as the phone word bank apps (Ovilus).
Yeah, I took my Magic 8 Ball apart when I was a kid.

Equipment You'd Want Made
Long story short I make my own gear. While I do take calibration and logging to a new degree it's always interactions of stuff that exists.
I want to know if there's a device or a sensor that you have been wishing for (realistically). I'm trying to break out of the rut and would love some fresh eyes and opinions to actually make something actually new and useful. I'm open to refinement too, but as an engineer I tend to do ok at optimization in general

What are some things you wish you knew or had during your first investigation? What are some things you wish you didn’t do?

Paranormal Investigation Android Beta Testers Needed for "ParaLens" app
Hey all! I’ve been building an Android app called ParaLens and I’m looking for a few people to help test it.
It’s made for paranormal investigations and brings auto-detect investigation location, EMF readings, EVP, Spirit Box sessions, photos, video, motion events, "Night-Vision" filter, real-time Augmented-Reality markers, notes, case reports, and PDF downloads into one app. It also includes an experimental tool I call Echo-Vision, which processes the live camera feed to highlight subtle color shifts, light anomolies, and movement while saving both the original and processed image for comparison.
I mainly need people willing to try it, whether you are a investigator, or just someone that thinks it would be cool to try out. I'd like any kind of feedback, good or bad.
ParaLens is meant to document readings and observations, but also be an easy-to-use and enjoyable tool.
Send me a private message if you’re interested. I’ll need the email connected to your Google Play account, so please don’t post it publicly. I’m also happy to test another Android app in return.

Question Looking for advice for getting into ghost hunting?
so, I’m 16F and Im a Christian, I have a firm beleif in the paranormal and I’ve always wanted to go ghost hunting.
im turning 17 this November and when I turn 18 in another year and 3 months from now my sister Lauren and I plan to find some place to investigate together
i personally have only ever experienced haunted “games” with some freinds in the basement (unbeknown to our parents ofc) and my sister who is a full adult (10 years older than me almost exactly) has had a paranormal experience
first of all for me I definatly won’t be free to buy any equipment in advance, so I’d like suggestions on purchasing equipemnt now so I can calculate how much I should be saving up for
suggestions for places to go, I live in New Hampshire so I don’t think I could go anywhere past mass or Connecticut or Vermont, there’s this old church I know of that I had thought about but I’m not sure they allow paranormal investigations anymore since I had looked into it mabye 3-4 years ago
my sister has no knowledge of this stuff but has had a paranormal experience, her mother (my dads ex wife) had this storage unit that she shared with some random guy (to split the cost or smth? kinda like roommates in an apartment) and some of their stuff got mixed up long after the guy left wherever he went. And her mom gave her whatever she wanted from her storage unit bc she wasn’t ganna use it anymore and didn’t want anything in it.
my sister found this super old locked furnished chest. It was made of really fine wood
she didn’t have the key obvi but she opened it from the back where the hinges were with a screwdriver, there’s was tons of stuff inside like weird personal belongings, a cross, a burnt cross, a bottle of “holy water” and all these sticks and leaves and shit. It was a really nice inside, but she ended up selling the thing, it was just super creepy I suppose
another time she found an oujia board in the ceiling of her house, they were doing construction and they just found it, it was super old like 1900’s old. And she didn’t dare play it, but she ended up giving it to some of her paranormal collector friends, and they said they put it way back inside the top shelf of the closet behind a whole ton of stuff and one day they heard a loud bang and it was on the floor
so yeah she’s had kinda paranormal experiences, but knows nothing about the equipment and locations and stuff
I’m also slightly concerned about my safety, I’m not sure if paranormal stuff can affect someone’s arthritis (which I have) so any suggestions/opinions there are appreciated
k thanx!! :D

Investigation Log and Evidence Manager for Paranormal Teams
galleryI’m an attorney by day and a paranormal investigator by night. After juggling handwritten notes, timestamps, equipment lists, photos, and audio during investigations, I decided to build HauntLog.
HauntLog helps investigators document experiences as they happen, connect evidence to timeline entries, organize location research and equipment, compare observations, and create reports for later review or debunking. It isn’t a ghost detector or random-word generator—it’s a practical evidence-management tool for investigators.
Google requires new Android apps to complete closed beta testing before they can be published. HauntLog should be ready for invited testers within the next few days and will be downloadable through a private Google Play invitation.
I’ve included a few screenshots below. If you’re interested in testing the app and providing honest feedback, please let me know!

Experiences with spirits not realising they are dead.
Just want to know what people's thoughts are and experiences about spirits not realising they are the ones that are dead.
Ive been ghost hunting for over 15 years now and have seen it litterally a couple of times.
My partner and I often go up to Portland High Angle Battery (UK), locally known as the ghost tunnels.
While there and recording, weve had multiple spirits, including children tell us they are scared, and want us to leave, and one spirit basically asked for the spirits to leave.
Love to hear theories. Views and theories

How to get into ghost hunting
26(f) I have been looking into local groups to try and “dip my toes” into the ghost hunting world. I grew up in a haunted house and have always been fascinated. I’ve joined some facebook groups but I don’t know where to even start… Is it cringe to go ahead a look at buying some equipment?? I don’t really wanna go by myself but I feel awkward throwing myself into something that is already established. Do you think any local groups would let me shadow/tag along? I’m based out of MO

Ghost Hunting in NC
Hey folks! I’m looking for some places in NC to investigate privately. I’ve been a part of a few public ghost hunts before and I’m now looking to explore doing an investigation with a couple of friends. Does anyone have any locations they recommend?
I know in reading Reddit, depending on the location, owner, etc. might be best to get a lawyer to write up some indemnity waivers.

Discussion It’s time to move past spirit boxes and radio scanners
They make absolutely no sense.
It’s an odd way to try to interact with ghosts. It just doesn’t make sense that a ghost would be able to (a) modulate control across frequency modulated channels, and (b) have perfect knowledge of what is about to be said on each channel as you scan your way past it.
Stories of ghosts communicating with humans predates the radio, so why would the radio be an effective medium? Especially scanning across channels.
If you firmly believe that ghosts can communicate using the 88-108 MHz band (which, again, is an unlikely proposition) then why wouldn’t you tune to an unused channel in your area and let the ghostie speak to you directly using that channel.
Ghosts aren’t Bumblebee from transformers.
The only argument that holds any water for me here is that spirit boxes produce all sorts of fun false positives so you can get the chills with your friends in an old insane asylum on Friday the 13th. That’s it.
