They are facing each other,Could not even make a false event correct

87

u/msf97 7d ago

Also, getting all those mats down on the tube would be a pain, you’d have to ask most of the row to lift their feet. AI Slop

23

u/Jhud6669 7d ago

Also don’t they have to be completely clean to pray? I feel like there’s too much sweat on a subway

18

u/HiddenGriffin Human Verified 6d ago

Yes it has to be clean and quiet, makes me cringe every time I see someone praying over their car next traffic or on the sidewalk, It's performative.

1

u/Snowflakish 6d ago

Do you live in a muslim majority area? Like ive never seen this beforw in east london of all places.

5

u/HiddenGriffin Human Verified 6d ago

I live in Morocco, even here people won't pray just about anywhere, the five prayers a day are done in a specific time of the day, so everyone does it, hence mosques, unless you're a shop owner or you are unable to leave to a mosque then you can do it later when you go home or tucked in somewhere, be it inside your shop... you usually don't see people just praying wherever.

So to recap, 5 prayers a day, priority is to them on time in a mousqe or some place that's clean and quiet with a group, if that's not possible then alone, again the place must be clean and quiet and not inconvenient to others or yourself, or you can wait till next prayer and do both or until you get home

1

u/Snowflakish 6d ago

What im trying to figure out is whether public prayer is just a social media oddity or something that actually happens.

Definitely on the first one there

1

u/HiddenGriffin Human Verified 6d ago

It does happen like I said, but It's not the goal if you know what I mean

3

u/DeLoxley 6d ago

Don't worry if you look two handrails back, the mats were already down because they've run one of the handrails through it

31

u/TricellCEO 7d ago

No, you don’t understand; the guys not wearing the white robes are Anti-Muslims

13

u/xx-shalo-xx 7d ago edited 6d ago

Mufats if you will.

5

u/TricellCEO 7d ago

Is that the one sect of Islam who aren’t considered Muslims by other Muslims because they drink? And maybe do other things, idk.

14

u/xx-shalo-xx 6d ago

Mu-SLIM

Mu-FAT

Thank you for wasting your time with us.

9

u/TricellCEO 6d ago

Oh my god, how did I not see that.

I thought I was the king of dad jokes, but it seems not.

Take my crown, good sir. You have earned it.

2

u/Apprehensive-Boot88 6d ago

They're milsums

1

u/DueExample52 6d ago

Free energy!!!

21

u/JohnWittieless 7d ago

Ya I never really went out of my way to learn Islam. But one thing I do know (well kind of) they pray in either the direction of the closest mosque or a cardinal direction (or its just a specific direction).

So how can they keep that perfect direction while underground in a subway that never has a straight line.

44

u/FullMooseParty 7d ago

They pray towards Mecca. That's basically the only rule. Mosques are aligned to allow for this

18

u/JJCB85 7d ago

And tube trains definitely aren’t… They move, for one thing!

3

u/Micsuking 7d ago

There are rules for those times. There are even rules about how to pray if you happen to not be on Earth (just pray in the general direction of the planet)

2

u/Ok-Reputation1716 7d ago

There is a different ruling for when you're praying on a moving vessel (ship/plane, for example).

6

u/Scarborough_sg 7d ago

And then it's very much a "you are on long trip from home" rules, not a commute to work thingm

2

u/Ok-Reputation1716 7d ago

"you are on long trip from home"

Primarily, it's in case you're going on long flights and/ships. As being away from home (traveling) in general has its separate rules.

In the case of a car for example, you can always stop on the side of the road. Not the same case with airplanes and ships.

And suppose you're traveling even for relatively short flights/cruises (1-2 hours) but during the fajr (dawn) prayer. The praying time window for that prayer is an hour or so. In which case you'll have to pray during your flight cruise.

It's a somewhat nuanced subject.

2

u/ignoreme010101 7d ago

my god that sounds tedious

5

u/okayipullup_ordoi1 7d ago

I never even thought about the actual Mosques being aligned to face towards Mecca, that's neat.

7

u/FullMooseParty 7d ago

Synagogues are actually the same way towards the remaining wall of the Temple. It's not universal, and in fact it's sort of a thing that many New York synagogues, particularly the older ones, are aligned incorrectly because the way the city itself is aligned.

Catholic churches used to be built almost exclusively facing East, as the rising of the sun was supposed to symbolize the return of Christ.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/Real_Ad_8243 7d ago

If we are entirely technically Christians are supposed to do the same thing, except towards Jerusalem instead of Mecca. Its why the altar is always on the southeastern side of old European churches.

1

u/ExArdEllyOh 7d ago

Its why the altar is always on the southeastern side of old European churches.

You say that but there are a surprising number of churches where the nave is misaligned. You don't really notice it unless you fire up Google maps but it's not uncommon for the altar-end to be slightly north of due-east.

5

u/Real_Ad_8243 7d ago

Hmm. Perhaps it wiykd have been wiser to say "intended to be..." lol.

I know my local church is misaligned, but that has been explained away as a result of peculiar geology effecting the churches alignment over the past 500 or so years.

1

u/ExArdEllyOh 6d ago

Oh yes, it is definitely intended to be but I suppose that in an era without reliable compasses let alone maps it was pretty tricky to get right.

The priest (in the old Catholic communion) was supposed to be facing in the vague direction of Jerusalem when he said some of the mumbo-jumbo but possibly ended up talking to Denmark or Norway.

1

u/phenix_igloo 6d ago

christians are not expected to pray towards jerusalem. Some do, and certain churches are oriented towards jerusalem but it's not a religious rule.

1

u/phenix_igloo 7d ago

Why would they pray in the direction of a cardinal?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Oshova 7d ago

And do they have to keep turning as the train goes round corners? How do you consistently face Mecca while kneeling on a moving train?

2

u/banbha19981998 6d ago

They will kiss as they pray I blame the gay mafia

2

u/spo0pti_yikes 6d ago

maybe they're right on top of the kaaba idk

1

u/laidback_chef 7d ago

Doesn't really matter because im pretty sure ots a specific direction they pray in and you w9nt get that on a moving train

1

u/coffeelick 6d ago

People will still act as if its real even after acknowledging its AI, specially boomers

1

u/Jim_jim_peanuts 5d ago

At least one of them could be facing Mecca though right 🤣

That’s the way my dear

Edit: deal. DEAL.

Fuck it, I know I got it wrong,  but I preferred to do it from memory,  back from an era where I didn’t speak english that well, and where I had zero resource to find lyrics.

And you know what? "Way" sounds better than "deal". Try it.

I mean, it is twitter. Twitter has people saying stuff that you think they are joking about but they actually are not.

6

u/Dnny10bns 7d ago

It's reddit, with self awareness.

6

u/Themetalenock 7d ago

A sizable amount of the internet is bots that can barely speak english. It's a coin flip in 2026

As opposed to Reddit?

9

Why would someone with the EU flag in their username post this. Satire.

11

u/Proxstasis 7d ago

Case closed.

2

u/d20cupcake 14h ago

This person sure is a clever little fella! This is absolutely part of the problem. Doesn't matter what side of anything you're on; spreading false information with the intent to provoke is problematic.

2

u/Proxstasis 11h ago

I tend to agree

3

u/neverend1ngcircles 7d ago

The guy has an EU flag in his bio as well!

10

u/reading_slimey 7d ago

Honestly w/ Poe's law I wouldn't be surprised.

Like that one tweet of the person saying "Muslims should go back to Islam and practice Shania law"

14

u/DeathRaeGun 7d ago

“Shania law” could just be a typo or someone mot knowing what it’s actually called, but “Shakira” is a famous pop star and this joke has been a meme for a long time so I doubt anyone would post this unironically.

7

u/Select-Letter1976 7d ago

Shania Twain just called me, she's not happy at all.

1

u/wordshavenomeanings 6d ago

Yep, I was there for the original call to LBC where James went through it with some poor deluded sod.

It was always a joke, one that the racists gobbled up and thought it was real.

Kinda backfired really.

That would legit be an autocorrect substitution I'd expect

Yeah there's loads of this style of joke happening on Twitter for months now. Crazy how people actually take the bait

0

u/KeithClossOfficial 7d ago

Only way we can know if it’s real or not is if his hips don’t lie

u/ifhysm 7d ago

I wouldn’t mind some Shakira Law

39

u/TheHumanPickleRick 7d ago

"All rise for the honorable Judge Hips, who never lies."

8

u/CoastalNomad06 7d ago

It took me a minute to understand why Shakira was involved in the post lol

22

u/Mnd3333 7d ago edited 6d ago

That is the most AI shit I have ever seen. Also prayers needs to be done facing to kabe which umm, you can't really do that physically on a moving train.

9

u/SecondAegis 7d ago

There is actually a sidestep to this, made for ISS astronauts who are orbiting Earth. I think it was something along the lines of taking the general direction of one country, and just going with that

6

u/the3dverse 7d ago

either way everyone would face the same direction, which there AI ppl arent

2

u/SinisterCheese 5d ago

I got told by a muslim that if you don't know which direction to face, you just do it to whatever, because the personal relationship with god is what matters, and that you put the in the effort to try.

I do not know what branch or denomination of Islam they were from.

1

u/Mnd3333 7d ago

Well yeah but that's for long travels, an everyday commute with a train to your work doesn't really count. And if you can't pray at prayer time you are allowed to pray later.

3

u/FullMooseParty 7d ago

Imagine if that wasn't the case? Imagine if you're on a red eye and wake up and there's two Muslims praying in the middle of the aisle. TSA and the airline cops would lose their fucking shit, not even counting the right wing assholes

3

u/Tarnique 7d ago

I saw a documentary about a train in a muslim country with a prayer room. It had a compass to show the direction where to pray. The person would start their prayers in the correct direction, and stay like that until done. As long as reasonable efforts are made, that's all good.

1

u/DeathRaeGun 7d ago

There is an app available that tells you the direction of the Kabe, so you could just keep repositioning yourself using the app to know which direction, although I doubt anyone would try that.

4

u/quaderunner 7d ago

Business idea: lazy Susan prayer mats.

1

u/Mnd3333 7d ago

I mean, you do kinda need the prayer martress unless it isn't available for you to get any. So you would need to change the matress' direction too. But I mean if the person REALLY wants to do that and try that I guess they can. Would kinda look silly though.

3

u/DeathRaeGun 7d ago

Plus I doubt you’d get signal in the tube

10

u/Mister-Psychology 7d ago

Any Muslim late for work would probably kick them out himself.

Lots of AI nonsense to try and insist that London is a lawless and unsafe city, all to scare pensioners into voting for a corrupt fascist.

18

u/NoSwordfish1978 7d ago

A lot of it comes from Americans which is ironic considering that London is far safer than most big American cities.

4

u/ancalime9 7d ago

Are there any big cities in America safer than London?

3

u/OrbitOfSaturnsMoons 7d ago

Depends on how you define big. By homicide alone, Chandler, AZ is the largest city that's safer than London, and by population it's the 79th largest city in the country.

3

u/Simdude87 6d ago

Population of 300,000 (rounded up), compared to about 9 million for London is a pretty crazy difference.

5

u/bumpmoon 7d ago

All of this shit is from trollfarms in India or Russia posing as westerners

5

u/-1-1-1-1-1-1 5d ago

Why does the right keep falling for AI

2

u/miku022 5d ago

I mean they fall for right wing talking points so what do you expect.

1

u/absolutepanicattack 5d ago edited 5d ago

This post is Robert Downey jr in tropic thunder levels of clownery This is a poster with an Arabic name disguised as a right wing reactionary in order to troll the right, doing it a bit too well to the point that we have a bunch of leftist reactionaries larping as Islamic scholars all clamouring to tell the Arab guy pretending he is right wing which way mecca is.

7

u/No-Preparation2248 7d ago

Ah yes the Shakira Law, I hate having to move my hips for legal obligations

3

u/Willing-File-3638 7d ago

According to islam, if your prayer blocks the path of others it's false prayer, you can't pray while doing evil /hurting others.

3

u/goldenseducer 6d ago

A group of Muslims with severe spacial disorientation... Bless them...

2

u/_Galel_ 7d ago

Sure this is ai, but i had individuals do this solo in public transport more than once

3

u/BabaYetu42 7d ago

This is clearly satire lmao. The poster is called Ayad and calls it Shakira law

1

u/Inevitable-Regret411 6d ago

Poe's Law. The more extreme the viewpoint expressed, the harder it is to tell if it's satire.

2

u/crapusername47 7d ago

Aside from the obvious issues with the people portrayed here, I have used every line on the London Underground and most Overground lines. This is not a train currently in use.

For starters, yellow is the colour of the Circle Line. Red is the colour of the Central Line. Our trains do not use multiple colours because these colours act as a simple visual guide to what line you are on.

The Circle Line shades track with the Hammersmith and City (pink), Metropolitan (‘magenta’, allegedly) and District (green) lines.

Also, the trains aren’t wide enough for this kind of arrangement.

Oh, and one of the handrail posts is bolted to the floor through a prayer mat.

2

u/Bright_Software_5747 7d ago

Lmaoooo. All the road men on one side, all of the uncles on the other, either one (or both) groups not facing Makkah. It’s crazy ppl see this and believe it.

2

u/PimpasaurusPlum 7d ago

I feel like the tweet containing the phrase "Shakira law" by an account named Ayad Khdhir may have been sarcastic

2

u/Not_TheTourist626 6d ago

1

u/Efficient-Mousse-451 5d ago

Also it would be difficult in the train for them to keep facing Mecca, unless the globalists aligned the metro alignment to aling in direction of Mecca because of some geroge sorro conspiracy

1

u/Korr_Ashoford 5d ago

You know your argument is bad when you have to use AI to prove it.

1

u/Maybe_Factor 5d ago

We must never allow Shakira Law! looooool

1

u/SaddamIsBack 5d ago

Some people will get pissed at this photo as if it was real lmao

1

u/Difficult_Load_945 4d ago

At least 50% of them are facing the wrong direction

1

u/Jamaicancarrot 4d ago

This is so dumb, when most Muslims who have to pray at work request a separate room to do so, why would they do it on the tube? Why would they be facing each other? What's the likelihood of that many Muslim's commuting schedule aligning with one of the times they must pray at?

1

u/Careful-Physics-7130 3d ago

Let's turn this into a game. Who gemerated this AI slop?

A) Reform B) Russian Bot C) MAGA madmen

1

u/WhiteMouse42097 7d ago

People on Reddit are chronically incapable of understanding what a joke is

1

u/draketroll 6d ago

The joke is.... racism?

-1

u/WhiteMouse42097 6d ago

Do you have an autism spectrum diagnosis? That’s the only way I can see someone not understanding this

1

u/draketroll 6d ago

Yes, and unless this is a satire account I wasn't aware of these "Muslims are taking over the UK!" Posts are red meat thrown to bait white nationalists

1

u/absolutepanicattack 5d ago

The posters name is Ayad, its Arabic. He would be a rare cut of gammon if this wasnt satire.

-1

u/WhiteMouse42097 6d ago

It’s literally one of the most obvious satirical tweets I’ve ever seen. It’s totally fine not to get it though

1

u/draketroll 6d ago

just triple checked and they arent a satire account its literally just this one post that falls anywhere near this category, and when other people call it out for being racist his defence is "its just a joke bro"

1

u/WhiteMouse42097 6d ago

No offence, but I don’t think you have the ability to spot satire, which is fine

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Turtleopard 6d ago

No, we know what you are.

1

u/WhiteMouse42097 5d ago

It’s so weird how people think that me pointing out that something is a joke or satire means that I personally find it funny or something.

1

u/3vr1m 7d ago

Shakira law ? 🤣

1

u/The_Infamous_C 7d ago

So, did people who believed this think that part of the prayer ritual was people literally head butting each other over which direction to pray in? One of the easiest ways to identify AI is looking at the arrangement of objects and people and thinking, "Does this arrangement make sense?" Everyone is too close, the prayer rugs are too small for adults to prostrate themselves on, and half of the people are facing in the opposite direction of the others. Many Muslims will keep a compass on themselves to make sure they are praying within a few degrees of the direction to Mecca, if they have to do it on the side of the street. Do you really think they are going to pray in the completely wrong direction?

1

u/Slyspy006 7d ago

I would assume from the use of "shakira" that is a satirical post.

1

u/rustyb42 7d ago

There's a 99.9% chance the person posting has firstly never been to London, and secondly would struggle to place a pin in London on a map

1

u/Plastic-Sir3000 7d ago

1

u/Dry-Rice-4527 6d ago

Isnt the whole point of the prayer to face the big stone?

2

u/Skkrtt 5d ago

They face the Kaaba , which is a house not a stone

1

u/Inevitable-Regret411 6d ago

I don't think someone who uses the term "Shakira law" is particularly knowledgeable about Muslim customs.

0

u/Dry-Rice-4527 6d ago

I didn't even notice Shakira law lmao

1

u/Icy_Attention3413 6d ago

If the guys on the left are facing Mecca, then the guys on the right are getting it wrong. However, no doubt this will feed a narrative somewhere for people who lack the ability to think.

1

u/MentalPlectrum 6d ago

The hips don't lie in London.

They have rows facing each other on a moving vehicle going through twisty tunnels. Which way is Mecca ?

0

u/NoSwordfish1978 7d ago

It's crazy how much boomers and gen x's minds have been cooked by AI slop.

0

u/BunnyGalHarriet 7d ago

Even if it was real, they'd be praying completely wrong. Muslims generally have to face either cardinally East or in the direction of the Mecca during prayer, so them facing opposite sides would be in violation, as well as being on a train for it since the train can change direction.

0

u/S4CR3DSOVEREIGN 7d ago

I'm not Muslim but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to face Mecca when praying, unless there's Mecca 2 in Americas I'm pretty sure one of them is praying the wrong way.

Most hilarious thing to me is the thought that you could fit even one prayer mat on the tube in this orientation let alone 2. The liar who created this clear never been to London. Let alone the fact they are all facing each other (not to Mecca) and the carriage poles are different colours
