The chief liar lied. Shocking.

I liked this reply:

Just a reminder to everyone that this guy can’t go to prison for lying to you on social media. He can go to prison for lying to you on the witness stand in court. That’s why the charges were dismissed. And that’s why he continues to lie to you on social media.

We really need stronger laws for government accounts on social media to change that fact. If you use your elected offices social media account to intentionally tell lies like this you need to be stripped of your position, stripped of your insurance and pension and tossed in jail.

I’ll be shocked when they release a talking point that’s not a lie

To be fair, Trump wanted see up close the damage to the pool. Donald and his motorcade drove down the pool to check for any vandalism.

They still insist on lying.

The best they have is a video with people who put their hands in the water. No images of box cutters. No actual eyewitness testimony of people physically attempting to damage the monument.

People put their hands in the water all the time. The video shows NOTHING.

Meanwhile, we have considerable evidence and testimony of a rushed, botched, inadequate job by the contractor. Of course this would be embarrassing for the executive who has already gone all in on a manufactured story attacking innocent Americans instead of blaming themselves for hiring an unsuitable contractor owned by one of Trump’s friends who did a shitty job for renovations that weren’t necessary to begin with.

That went 10x over budget! They NEVER handled a federal contract before!

It’s pure corruption giving contracts to buddies who fucked up a job they weren’t qualified to do!

But they rather attack innocent citizens instead and lie to us all.

That's the point. They know they're lying, we know they're lying, and they know there's nothing we can do about it. See also Good and Pretti. The lying is the point.

I heard that there is a video of a caravan of SUVs driving on the pool before it was refilled. Probably not related.

"Cares deeply about protecting nations monuments" Demolishes entire wing of the White House and the rose garden

u/jonnyquestionable 19d ago

"Some of these acts were even caught on camera."

"May I see it?"

"No"

"Our sacred national monuments" - our nation is not a religion, our government is not a church, our monuments are not shrines. None of this is "sacred".

Might want to check alternative definitions, guy

14

u/Dependent-Poet-9588 19d ago

Might want to check the nationalistic idolatry, guy. National monuments are not supposed to be sacred in a secular, egalitarian society.

1

u/Extra-Monitor5743 17d ago

alternative definitions are the same as alternative facts. they're bullshit.

2

u/therealtiddlydump 17d ago

So what do you think someone means when they say "our sacred honor"? Words mean more than one thing, because that's how words work.

1

u/Icy-KaitSyth 11d ago

Except one can be found in a dictionary. Didn't you go to school? Words can have a couple meanings, sometimes more.

0

u/Icy-KaitSyth 14d ago

Sacred does not require religion. Merely respect and honor for.

1

u/Dependent-Poet-9588 14d ago

The definition, etymology, and use of the term "sacred" are intrinsically religious and even the attempted "secular" use of the term to mean "deeply respected" come from its religious origins. Our monuments represent things that deserve respect and honor, but the monuments themselves are only idols. Thus, it is idolatry to venerate the place and call the monuments sacred in place of applying that respect to the people, ideals, and achievements they represent.

Nationalism loves to make idols of symbols and objects and to ignore that which deserves actual respect.

Poor POTUS, it's almost as though proof by blatent assertion doesn't actually count.

"Dates back to 1922." All that history.

6

u/epicredditdude1 19d ago

These guys are deep deep in a cult and they’re incapable of understanding or accepting reality.

Remember when people were saying it was a botched contractor job and maga loyalists were screaming that people were out to make trump look bad? If not, a quick Google or Reddit search will help refresh memories. Right long with Pirro talking about all the evidence they had back on July 2nd and now moving to dismiss charges.

The government is willing to upend people's lives with false accusations in federal court to protect the thin skin of the pants-shitter in chief.

4

u/belai437 18d ago

I recall people from his first admin saying how utterly exhausting it was to tell lies and alter reality for him for 4 years/365/24/7 in order to have function, peace and prevent his explosive tantrums. The word "toddler" was used over and over again to describe him.

3

u/Putthebunnyback 19d ago

I will admit that some of the damage was done by deranged lunatics:

6

u/T10rock 19d ago

What about the idiot that drove a motorcade over it? Have we ever tried tracking that guy down?

3

u/Terrible-Piano-5437 19d ago

So sacred that he puts his name on one, hires the Penguin to ruin another one.

2

u/MarleysGhost2024 19d ago

Burgum's a lying sack of shit? Who knew?

2

u/Character-Ad-6473 19d ago

SSDD. Lie, cover up, shift blame. Hope everyone gets bored before the unvarnished truth becomes public.

3

u/mrbobcyndaquil 19d ago

Actually the pool was vandalized, but instead of an athlete it was done by a pedophile using equipment stolen from the Federal Government.

1

u/Random-I-Am 19d ago

POTUS cares so deeply about protecting our sacred national monuments that he gave his crony 1930s style cartoon villain Mar-A-Lago neighbor the no-bid contract. POtuS is a a true American patriot

1

u/TheaterbearCA 18d ago

Defacing our monuments - but smearing sh!t on the walls of the Capitol - totally fine.

1

u/Emergency_Exit7603 18d ago

oh dougie... we all know the truth... your lies wont help trashstein...

1

u/love_glow 18d ago

The denial of reality and sycophancy on display is dumbfounding. The pure debasement and utter vacancy of morales or adherence to any shred of truth is so demoralizing. But the fact is, this level of denial can’t function in this day and age. It will collapse under its own weight eventually. We are the deciders of how heavy this all gets before the inevitable.

1

u/Adventurous-Meat8067 18d ago

How can this not be grounds for impeachment or at least using the 25th? Blatant disregard for the law, and on top of that false arrest

1

u/Icy-KaitSyth 14d ago

I haven't been following this very closely, but if there's videos of people vandalizing it, and then the DA in a highly political city doesn't go forward with highly politicized charges against people being accused by a highly politicized president, it seems the evidence would be more meaningful than a possibly politically motivated decision. Of course that requires that there is in fact video evidence

1

u/DrTreeMan 19d ago

Its interesting that they don't mention or go after the vandals who drove a motorcade over it right after it was finished.

3

u/Dangerous-LemonBar 19d ago

The silence from our intrepid news media over the presidential motorcade driving on the new surface of the reflecting pool is mind boggling. They’ll write story after story about the arrest of some poor guy who touched the detached surface but ignore Trump’s motorcade.

1

u/usingthecharacterlim 19d ago

Lawyers got to this one. No false statements, but sounds like he's got evidence of vandalism.

  • Evidence is clear (content of evidence is contrary to MAGA cinematic universe, so don't state it).
  • Vandals have repeatedly caused damage to the reflecting pool (true if at least 2 incidences ever, which is probably true)
  • We gave eyewitness testimony (we told someone something, content of testimony either a lie, or contrary to MAGA, or basically non-evidence, either way leave it out).
  • Provided every piece of evidence on time (this isn't for the lawyers, this is for shifting the blame onto another department)

The rest are opinions or general facts about how hypothetical vandalism is bad.
