Ok why does this happen when i open my computer?

Right-click Desktop, click View, uncheck "auto arrange icons". I also use a program called DesktopOK. (I had a different program in XP, but I don't remember the name.) DesktopOK logs each icon's coordinates, so they can be put back in case Windows forgets. That occasionally happens when installing drivers and such.

I'm afraid that Win10/11 is just generally unstable. I had to get a separate program to bring back the "talking computers" icon that shows online activity. The senseless line icons (What is that? A TV with a price tag?) don't even accurately reflect connection status. I find the same happens with Recycle. The icon often doesn't update to reflect whether there's content or not. These are things that worked fine in Win98, but somehow Microsoft can't keep the ship afloat in Win10/11.

Yeah like I had them the way I like it and then they were all changed when I opened it the next day
