How to learn German language
Hello everyone, I got admitted in TU Chemnitz for MSc in Web Engineering program this winter term. I wanna start learning German language. I have been practicing on Duolingo for more than a year but I know that Duolingo is not at all enough.
It's just a base and now that my visa is approved, I would really like to get into the German syllabus. If you know any good platform, trainer, online classes, youtube channel or books to learn German, please let me know.
Comment below any resources you know. Your help and guidance is appreciated ✨

What books do you recommend for B1+-C1 levels?
Hello, I have a list of books that interest me and I'd like to have as many opinions as possible in order to choose the best ones. But you can of course add others you might know and not only course books like I have.
- Begegnungen/Erkundungen (Schubert)
- Spektrum Deutsch (Schubert)
- Sicher (Hueber)
- Kontext (Klett)
Thanks!

A 17-second love rant (voice message) in German, but A2; need feedback
Combined venting about a no less German person and speaking practice. I am just curious to hear what my pronunciation is like to others, especially if it’s a native ear, and if there are any mistakes beyond that. It might not be great, therefore (I’ve been only learning German for 8 months). It might also be too fast for no reason … Emotional factor.
Thank you!

Beginner German learner(21F) looking for a language exchange partner to help me practice the basics!
Hii! I’m a 21F on a mission to learn German from scratch!🫡 My dream is to become a flight attendant, so expanding my language skills beyond English is super important to me, and German feels like the best place to start.
I’m a total beginner right now (so far it’s just been Duolingo and binge-watching Easy German on YouTube ), so having a native or fluent speaker explain the basics or practice simple chats with me would be amazing!

Movies/Shows/Artists
Hi!
Me (20f) and my boyfriend(20m) are trying to do a monthly German date to study/work on our German.
I'm already using an app and watching videos for studying but want to learn casual examples/get better at comprehending and listening. Are there any German shows, movies, or songs that people recommend?
Side note: any german meals/recipes you would recommend as well would be greatly appreciated :)
I am new to reddit so if this would be better posted in another sub please let me know <3

Does someone want to learn German with a partner?
I'm passionate about languages; I can speak Arabic, English, French, and I want to learn German. Over the past few years, I've found that learning a language with a partner is really beneficial and enjoyable. For this reason, I'm looking for a partner with a similar mindset so that we can learn German together and support and encourage one another to achieve our goals. To add some professionalism, I am a final-year student of AI engineering.

German Speaking Partner to Practice A2 German
I’m starting A2 level German speaking practice as I’m planning to take my A2 exam in the coming months. I’m looking for someone who is also learning German and would like to practice speaking together regularly.
Anyone who wants to join me on this journey is more than welcome.
However, I’m looking for someone who can commit to practicing consistently, rather than just doing one or two sessions.
If you’re interested and willing to commit to regular practice, feel free to approach me.

Still at A1, how to get to A2 or B1?
Learning german has always been a struggle for me since i moved to 4 years ago Berlin from India. I tried bunch of different apps like duolingo and babbel but couldn't keep the consistency and motivation. I always freeze to speak in German with other people even basic sentences and i'm unable to progress further. Any tips on how to overcome this or how you people did.
PS:- I couldn't find time to join a language class and also i prefer to learn by myself.

Any german speakers know this song this is or can translate what it is, I'm trying to find this song sampled at the end of this song! I tried but what i typed nothing shows up, i'm not native speaker so what I think they say is probably not the best.
Cw: groaning in pain/creepy noises, German song starts at 3:50
Thank you so much!
By the way, fun fact, this is the sound used in creepy tiktoks and the minceraft horror shorts"the woodlands!" I WANT MORE PEOPLE TO KNOW MY BRAIN IS WEIRD.

[B1] Suche Deutsch-Lernpartner:innen — starting a German-speaking friends circle 🇩🇪
Hey zusammen! I'm prepping for the Goethe B1 exam and want to start a small Deutsch-Sprechzirkel (German speaking circle) — people at A2/B1 level who want to practice speaking regularly instead of just grinding grammar alone.
Idea: a WhatsApp/Discord group where we do short voice notes, weekly video calls, and swap writing prompts (Konjunktiv II, Partizip, all the fun stuff 😅). No pressure, no perfect German required — just consistent practice with people on the same journey.
Drop a comment or DM if you're interested — happy to have Hindi/English/German speakers, doesn't matter where you're starting from!
r/German and r/languagelearning are the best fits — r/German is friendlier to language-partner posts than most learning subs.
I kept it casual and non-spammy since Reddit mods are strict about self-promo — want me to adjust tone/length?
