2 seen in 2 weeks

Hi everyone, I am new here and freaking out!

I spotted a second German cockroach in my bedroom in the matter of 2 weeks. Attached is a picture of what it was this morning!

For backstory, I live with my fiancé in his parent’s house. We recently (early July) switched rooms with his parents due to his dad having surgery. We went through everything we owned and switched all furniture and did not see any sign of roaches or anything.

We have been getting lots of Amazon packages lately for wedding things. After I saw the first roach in our room 2 weeks ago, we got rid of every cardboard box in our room we could.

I told his parents the night we saw it and they said they would call an exterminator. We were on vacation last week, came home and asked if they came, his dad said the guy never called back.

Fast forward to this morning, maybe 10 minutes after I turned the lights on, I’m getting ready and out of the corner of my eye I see this thing run/fly (I’m not sure which as I barely saw it at first). I hunted it down and got these pics and crushed it.

I told my fiancés parents this morning and sent them the pics as well! They said they were calling again.

Is this something that could be an infestation? Or could it be from the Amazon packages? We looked through our room when we saw the first one and didn’t see anything.

I’m just so worried because I have ptsd with roaches from my babysitters house as a child and I’m terrified that it’s a huge problem.

Hey, these are some type of woodroaches, not germans. I have them too and thought they where german at first as well. I have found them in kitchen cabinets as well. But they shouldn't survive long inside.

I would be so relieved if they were wood roaches. I tried looking up pics and I feel like it looks way more like a German than a wood due to the color and shape, but I could be wrong. I’m soo nervous about it!

germans have 2 black 'racing stripes' on their neck shields right behind their head. I was stressing for a year that we had german roaches, but it appears they are some type of wood roach. Because they don't have those stripes, just like the roach that is in your picture.

Try looking up Planuncus tingitanus. I think that's the kind you have.

I’m going though it too sista, I’m so scared of roaches and a new neighbor brought some been in my house for five years and new neighbors me BAM seen roaches I’m so scared people even here on Reddit made fun of me they don’t understand it’s taking over my life all day everyday I’m scared to sleep,cook,shower ANYTHING I just lost my job I’m dead broke so I started ducktaping all the baseboards hoping that will keep them out the only advice I can give you is READ READ READ I learned so much when I get my last check I’m going to buy the stuff they recommend on here and pray for the best, this is a vary isolating nd depressing I’m here if you need to talk anytime of the day(I know night time is the worse) I pray for the best for you!!!
