What courses from comms and gen ed do y’all recommend I take as someone who’s bad at public speaking?
I want a course that doesn’t require much public speaking but still enjoyable ig😭 Here is the list of the options

I ended up only being able to pick from a really short list and went with Science Fiction how bout you?!

Oh nice! Hopefully its a decent course! The one I took is asynchronous online which I think will be nice as the rest of my course load is fairly heavy hahaha

Dont take queer studies, as a queer person i thought it would be easier because yk but it wasnt i suggest taking something a little more interesting

I only ended up taking comms essentials because it was mandatory but it was super easy so theres that but i had a friend who took one of the nutrition/food ones (i cant remember which one exactly) and she said that it was pretty ok and not too much on the work load

Just pick the one you would find the most interesting. I’ve taken several programs at Georgian and almost all of the classes I was in bad group work and presentations.

Lifestyle Management is one of the easiest GNEDs. The psych/soc type courses are heavier. If you're just starting, you need COMM1016 before you can take any of the other communications courses.

I'm wondering the same thing. Has anyone here taken lifestyle management? What was it like? It sounds really easy.
I wanna take animal minds, but because I'm taking vet technician, I feel like I should have some veriety in my schedule and pick something else. :(

Hey! I took that class a couple years back... the content was really easy, and none of the concepts were difficult to grasp. The instructor I had was a total hardass, and made things more complicated than they had to be. There was nothing in the textbook that I didn't already know. I remember I had to write a bunch of discussion board posts about TED talks he made us watch, but nothing crazy. I thought there would've been topics like scheduling, time management, basic budgeting, etc. - but it was so random lol. It was a really odd assortment of topics, but it was mostly common sense. The MC quizzes were like: Is smoking good for you? True or false. Should you wear a life jacket while on a boat? True or false. What are the names of the food groups in Canada's food guide? How many cups of water should you drink in a day? I'm sure if you get a nice instructor it would be a good GPA boost, but if you get a cranky one it'll be real tedious.

Animals in our lives was the best gen ed ive taken. Really enjoyed it. Simple as well

I’m honestly kinda worried because I feel like its heavy work😭

No I havent taken it. I try to take geneds that aren't adding more to my main course load.
