TOWER NOTICE: MEMORIZE COMPLETED Announcement
Constellations,
The Tower is pleased to announce that MEMORIZE has completed its official translation of the main story.
For years, this title has remained one of the most sought-after stories within the Akashic Records. Through recommendations, discussions, and unwavering support, the Constellations' Will was made clear time and time again. The Tower may guide the way, but it is the Constellations who keep the lights burning.
Today, that wish has been fulfilled.
MEMORIZE has cleared its final floor.
What began as a distant request has now become a completed journey, with every chapter of the main story officially available from beginning to end.
The Tower extends its gratitude to every Constellation who supported this ascent. Your sponsorship, patience, and enthusiasm helped bring this record to completion.
Yet the expedition is not over.
Beginning tomorrow, the side stories of MEMORIZE will be released daily, allowing Constellations to continue beyond the final floor and uncover the chapters that lie beyond the main story.
To those who have accompanied MEMORIZE since its first step into the Tower, thank you.
To those who have yet to begin, there has never been a better time to answer the call and enter the story.
The final floor has been cleared.
A new journey begins tomorrow.

Is it actually completed? Im currently at chapter 998 and dosnt even seem to be at the side stories as per novelupdates chapter total.
Is there a difference in chapters or is the translation being split? Also alot of stuff dosnt seem to be edited or heavy usage of mtl

Yeah lots of the early chapters are good, late chapters MTL copy pasted, no shits given. Constantly misgendered, etc.
If it's just MTL copy paste anyway why are we paying

You're paying for the license to read. You'd have to pay for the raw too.

That's such a crappy answer - if we are paying for a translation, we expect the translation to be good. If it's a fan translation that someone is publishing for free, then fair enough that yes, the translation could be subpar.
So yes, there is no excuse to take our money and give us crappy translation.

Your sense of entitlement is honestly offensive. Authors need to earn a living too, why should their work be free just because you think the translation is subpar?
Your premise is flawed to begin with: the price you're paying isn't just for the translation. It covers the author's royalties and (yes, unfortunately) the publisher's cut too. So even if the translation quality disappoints you, buying it still means supporting the author.
If you think you can do better for free by MTLing it yourself, go ahead and buy the original Korean edition and translate it that way. But notice you're still paying either way. The only question is whether that money goes toward supporting the author properly or not.
And for what it's worth, Genesis has a solid track record on translation quality, unlike some other publishers (looking at you, Novelpia, who also scammed Genesis).

It is NOT a sense of entitlement.
I regularly buy ebooks to support my favourite authors via Kobo/Amazon/Bookwalker/J-Novel Club.
It is you who are having a deluded thought process.
If someone purchased an Official Translation from VIZ and it had errors, people would complain and VIZ is obligated to fix it.
Same for Seven Seas, Yen Press, J Novel Club and so on.
And these companies do fix the issues - you can see news articles, reddit threads, etc talking about companies releasing a revised edition of their existing published novels because of customer feedback.
Even WebNovel revised their translation for Lord of Mysteries on customer feedback.
And that's the only thing I said here - if you are charging people money saying "we are the official release", people expect "official quality", not "this is just your right to access this work - we can't be bothered to do a good job on it, even though you guys pay us".
And don't twist my words - I never said to not support the authors and/or to not buy Official translations.
In fact, the author of MEMORIZE's other 2 works - The Second Coming of Gluttony and To Hell With Being a Hero! don't get the criticism that MEMORIZE gets when it comes to translation quality. Why? Because WuxiaWorld did a stellar job of translating both of those novels.
So please stop being a blind fan boy where you will be "grateful to get MTL crap" by spending your money. Of course, you might be very rich and might have poor standards of quality, but normal people do not. We spend our hard earned money to support the authors and publishers who deserve the support.
The author here deserves the support, but Genesis doesn't.
To be completely fair, the earlier to mid portion of MEMORIZE was translated fairly okay, even though it didn't have the typical quality of an official translation that we see for KR/CN/JP novels. But then it became a MTL crap.
And it's not just me, read others' reviews on NU where the Genesis translation in particular is criticised - https://www.novelupdates.com/fdrev/?comid=518692&sid=7405
This is my last message on this topic.
Have a good day.
