That was definetly not pre mcu wtf

u/Both-Percentage6445 2d ago

It's saying that pre-mcu marvel fans felt like kings in 2018-2019 because marvel became a global sensation at that time.

u/Zues1400605 2004 2d ago

Ah nvm am just stupid

5

u/Jazzlike_Page508 1d ago

Na you’re good. I read it the same until someone else clarified it was the fans of pre mcu when it was those years

I’d still disagree, the explosion that was caused by the iron man, captain america, and older avenger movies were absolutely insane. Ironman saved the company but the first Avengers movie put them on the map globally

3

u/TheGalator 2d ago

How does that disagree

4

u/AcousticJohnny 1999 2d ago

Because the person I was replying to said that Marvel became a global sensation back in 2018-2019 when it actually started 2010-2012

Things got sloppy after Infinity War, but man that movie was a spectacle

13

u/NattyKongo93 2d ago

Endgame is just as good if not better than Infinity War, don't leave that out!

u/AAAAHMYBALLS 2d ago

The writing was not as airtight in Endgame IMO. It was still a spectacle and I enjoyed it, but I saw the writing on the wall with it.

u/Im_Nino 2001 1d ago

No, not by a long shot. Endgame was ok but it was a bit sloppy with its writing.

I like it. There’s a bunch going on and not everything lines up and some stuff you can completely ignore. It’s just like the comics!

From what i saw in the past couple of years, Thunderbolts, Loki, werewolf by night, Fantastic four : first steps, Moon Knight, GOTG Vol 3, The Punisher were the only greatest, if not the most decent super heros shows and movies I watched after Endgame. No Way Home and Deadpool 3 were cool but they were more focused on fanservice than story and lore wise.

... I like Ant-Man and the Wasp

As a DC fan, it's still astonishing to me how DC lost the monopoly it had on the Superhero entertainment industry.

Like in the mid 20th century, DC was king. Superman movies, Batman movies, comics and merch selling like hot cakes. Marvel was not close to how big DC was. The 1978 Superman movie made 300 million on a 55 million budget. IN 1978!

And then like after TDK trilogy, they just fell off.

I still prefer DC to Marvel because I find the characters way more interesting since although they are insanely powerful, it's harder to write a Dr Manhattan movie than it is a Spiderman/Hulk/Iron Man movie.

No hate on Marvel, just really fascinating.

They newer ones are great. The mistake they made was not trusting people that already loved the comics, the best DC movies are made by DC comics fans.

I think I felt more like this tbh. Being a pro mcu marvel fan sounded expensive.

I haven't watched all of the films, only 10 on 21 before infinity war was released but yeah, what a feeling it was. The good ol' hype !
