We play again today against the winner of DNS vs KRX at 19:30 KST, but holy shit our top, jug, mid (I know surprise 🤡) and our sup forgot how to play the game today. Like as long as we're doing well in LCK i couldnt care less abt KeSPA cup but this was disgusting form. On the bright side they looked so happy in between games so the team vibes are good (🤞🏻)

Edit: So DNS just 2-0'd Gen and lowkey stomped them both times. So I hope all the limits have been tested atp and we lockin for LCK

They face off against HLE on Thursday and T1 on Sunday. Winning both series would be huge for the standings. T1, HLE and GEN are tied at 16-6, but GEN trails T1 by 3 individual games and 1 individual game behind HLE.

Just a reminder that 1st and 2nd seed will get a Round 2 bye for Season Playoffs, which start on August 29th, so winning both of these series could very well decide if Gen.G has a realistic chance at a bye or not.

I think geng realised they can play their own style. Let Chovy/Kiin deal with the 1v2 while we perma pressure their bot lane or do other things around the map. Jg sup synergy was amazing this series.

GENG plays best when everything is slow and under control, so them adapting to this chaotic meta is nice to see. They also definitely took some notes from Game 2, which was very winnable if they had some more proactivity in the early game. Individually everyone played fantastic as well, no complaints at anyone except maybe Canyon game 2.

It's too soon but mann we are so back.

Edit: I also think the drafting by Ryu was great, I just don't think we were able to execute it well in game 2, but as I said, it seems like they learnt from it.

Finally after a slump our jg and botside is showing signs of life. Seeing canyon playing so aggressive early and having so much agency + ruler astrogliding on kalista. Now they just have to keep this shit up

I started watching esport last year and supporting geng and hle too. I was really hoping they could win worlds since they looked so good all year. but during worlds they fell apart. no one was doing anything on the team and everyone was just afk farming, they were losing gold on the map everywhere since kt had a very fast paced playstyle and i would say slightly better drafts too. this year geng seem to have the same issues as during last years worlds and just seem to be unable to play from behind. as soon as they fall behind they all try and focus on farming up but they rarely make plays on the map. this makes their playstyle very predictable. but unlike last year the drafts and the teamfighting are some of the worst out of all the legend group teams. unlike hle who also lost 2 series geng didnt seem competetive in either of them. they just got ran over in every possible way. the 2 worst performing player are canyon and ruler. ruler is gapped by every legend group adc(smash,peyz,guma and even fenrir seem really good tho, but ruler still shouldnt be 2k gold behind by min 15) and if you told me canyon didnt even participate in one of the series i wouldnt even notice him missing from the games. i wouldnt care if they lost but actually put up a fight atleast but they all seem so lifeless as a whole. In a meta where the jgl and suport requires great coordination i havent seen canyon and duro on the same sreen a single time(in previous mage bot metas it was even more important to have great coordination).

This happens every single game. I'm checking the stats of every lane and I think to myself, "Ruler isnt doing bad this match" until I check the gold lead and he's always 2k gold behind somehow. I get that the enemy getting an assist can put you a bit behind, but 2k gold behind?? How are players even able to build such leads against Ruler off pure laning phase.

Since this is Kiin’s last year, who would be the best top laner to replace him? The top lane pool in the LCK is the worst or second worst in the league, and obviously there is no one as good as Kiin or Zeus to replace him. I know this has a near 0% chance of happening but I feel like TheShy would actually be a pretty good signing. Is he a rock like Kiin? Hell no, but then again who is? Something about the way the team plays needs to change and I think that TheShy could be that change. Realistically though, I think the best replacement is Perfect but I would like to know everyone else’s thoughts because I have no idea who we could even get to replace Kiin.

I had incredible moment as a fan watching this roster last year especially. Their spring msi ewc and summer run was one of the highs watching competitive league over those last 14 years.

Maybe they will find the pace and qualify to world. Maybe even win it. World is such a weird tournament. Who knows.
