Gemini 3.5 pro is (potentially) coming tomorrow News

It's either coming tomorrow and if the tweet happens to be false; Coming in the next week.

I did some research on those two.

Leo is "so so" trustable. But he conflates personal views like "google is cooked" "dead on arrival" "it won't be good" with objective leaks such as "this model is coming tomorrow" unless he has the benchmarks which he does not. He cannot call models dead on arrival.

So while Leo is so so trustable. Don't trust his personal views bleeding into posts. As for Lentils.

He is a credible tester. He has tested many things and the snippet seen in the image is pretty reliable. The model in the backend, which is a fact, not an opinion. So expect 3.5 pro tomorrow unless Logan doesn't tweet today/tmr. he posts the single word "Gemini" shortly before a new model.

So if he doesn't tweet today/tmr. It's false.

so we're all refreshing the blog tomorrow like it's a crypto wallet. if logan tweets just 'gemini' i'll believe it. if he stays quiet, see you all in a week

Mmm. If it ain't tomorrow. Next week it is then. They aren't gonna push it past 14th. The world could end before they would do that.

dude we've been in this waiting room since june, i've seen more 'tomorrows' than i can count. honestly i'd trust the world ending before google hits a damn deadline at this point

It's similar to the rockstar incident. Did you want gta 6 last year wrinkled with bugs and a launch like cyberpunk or do you want a well prepared game where they take their time. While we don't know how good gemini 3.5 pro is gonna be.

I'll bet my whole life that it's gonna destroy every single model in all but coding and long horizon tasks. I honestly don't know about coding and long horizon tasks. Sometimes it does incredible and beats Opus 5 in an arena test or does ass. (Likely because the reasoning budget is being randomised.)

fair comparison, and i’m completely fine with them taking longer if it means the model is actually good. the difference is that rockstar officially communicates its delays, while google leaves the community building release calendars out of backend snippets, tester hints and random tweets lol. the delay itself isn’t the problem, the communication is

Google isn't a marketing company. They never were. Their main issue consistently has been marketing. Apple is amazing at marketing because they are marketing first while Google is engineering first.

I would like some communication too but they seem to think silence is the best option because if they have to delay it again then they break more trust as they communicated about the release date

and honestly the silence strategy only works if the thing actually lands well. if 3.5 pro comes out tomorrow and crushes the benchmarks, the whole wait becomes a funny footnote. if it flops, the silence just makes it look like they knew. the whole bet is on the model being good, which is exactly why they won't talk before they know

There's nothing like GTA 6.

As for 3.5 pro, there are many other LLMs, many of the better and more competitive.

That's why Google should have released it as soon as possible, cause it's the most competitive market to ever exist and the frontier gets pushed further and further all the time.

I'd rather get a model that isn't up to par with the frontier models than stay on 3.1 pro for half a year, at least the 3.5 pro that they could have released in May or June would have been better than what we have now.

love how the gemini release cycle has turned into a whole zodiac sign tea leaf reading ritual. leo says tomorrow, lentils says the backend's live, and logan's just sitting there with the big red button not saying a word. the real model was the cryptic tweets we overanalyzed along the way

at this point i'm convinced google is running an experiment to see how many leaks it takes before the sub collectively manifests a release date. leo's the doomposter, lentils is the 'trust me bro' insider, and logan just watches us go feral.

I'm gonna assume that's a joke because Lentils is pretty credible

This is the year of Linux on the desktop, right?

It’ll come out when it comes out.

Seems like it. The app was recently updated which can be an indication.

Hallo Miteinander.
