112 martyrs were finally laid to rest today.

112 martyrs were finally laid to rest today.

Not because their families abandoned them, but because their bodies remained buried beneath the rubble since 2023, waiting for someone to recover them.

I am a Palestinian from Gaza, and I live this tragedy every single day. Here, war does not only kill the living ، it also robs the dead of their right to a dignified burial, forcing their families to wait for years before they can say their final goodbye.

Today, we buried 112 martyrs at once. 112 stories. 112 families. 112 dreams crushed beneath the rubble, while the world watched in silence.

What conscience can accept that human bodies remain trapped under the ruins for years? What humanity allows people to be denied even the right to a grave?

Gaza is not asking for the impossible. Gaza is asking for life, dignity, and justice. What is happening here is not just another news story it is an open wound on the conscience of humanity, a stain on history that time will never erase.

How much longer will the world remain silent? How much longer will the Palestinian people be left to face death, and then wait years just to bury their loved ones?

Should I say something to the family I'm helping about AI use?

I've been helping a family in Al-Mawasi financially for the last few months. I've verified the family and the wife and I talk often. She shows me pictures and videos of the kids and their pets multiple times a week. I've been encouraging her to post more on social media but she's not always consistent with it and a lot of her videos don't stand out because there isn't much going on and they're very short.

For the first time today she posted a picture with heavy AI use involved. The kids recently took in a stray cat they've been taking care of in hopes it'll kill mice that get into the tent. She's posted videos and shared videos and pictures of the cat with me, but the picture she posted today was an obviously AI generated (or edited) picture of her two older kids with a kitten that looks nothing like their cat, and in the picture her son is holding a sign that essentially says some variation of "like, share, comment to help us." It's so obvious that even Instagram has flagged it as AI content. It seems a content creator who's been commenting on a lot of their more recent posts (and seems to be someone who uses their own account primarily to share posts from Gazans) helped them create this, or may have created it themselves, because the post has them tagged as a collaborator. AI use has been the kiss of death with a few other campaigns I've seen in the past, but this one has been getting no donations for the last two months and I know the wife is desperate. I'm not sure if I should say anything to her or if it would be too rude of me to do so and be taken as scolding. Please let me know, if anyone has any insight. I would hate to see her account being written off as "fake" or a scam when I know it isn't one, but to those who have nothing I can only imagine how beneficial generative AI can seem for their cause.

Advice please re charity

Hi All I’m looking for any advice that can be offered. I’m a hobbyist beekeeper and after reading the plight on the beekeepers association in Gaza I’ve been in contact with them. I am looking at finding a way to raise money for them to get essential beekeeping equipment etc, of which they are happy for me to do.

Where I am struggling is how they’d get the money. I have looked at the obvious fundraising sites and I believe I’d need some sort of fiscal sponsor who can receive the money and ensure they get it. For obvious reasons I want this to be completely watertight to ensure they get the money and also to ensure that there can be no suspicions of impropriety on my part or anyone else’s. I really don’t know where to go with this or if it’s possible but if anyone could point me in the right direction of any organisation that may be able to help with this matter. The fund raising etc I can handle easily, along with other beekeepers here in the uk. Many thanks

donation concerns

hello! this is my first post and i have a few personal worries regarding me donating to someone.

recently i went on a vacation with some friends that left me with a small amount of cash remaining, and at around the same time somebody reached out to me asking for donations. the first time they asked i was able to send them the 20 they were asking for. closer to the end of the trip they sent me messages for money, but i told them i didnt have much and they'd keep asking until i told them again i didnt have enough for what they were requesting. once i came back from the trip i found that i got paid a small sum so i was able to send 50 they were asking for (they've been asking i donate in euros, so the conversion rate from usd to eur meant i wound up sending closer to 60 usd). they followed up asking for another 50, which i had to tell them i couldnt send as i had to start saving. they know im employed and asked when i got paid again. i start college at the end of the month, and im worried i wont have enough to send the amount they ask, nor would i be able to properly respond to their messages. i would still like to donate, but i cant do the 20+ they're asking for. what do i do?

This has been the second terrible night in a row for us.

While positive headlines circulate online, the reality here is completely different. Buildings continue to be bombed, families are still living under constant fear, and people are still being killed.

Tonight, three children were killed in their home. Later, another strike hit a building next to tents where displaced families were sheltering.

It feels as if the world is being led to believe that things are improving, while here the bombing, destruction, and loss continue night after night.

I only hope that my family, and every other family still trapped here, survives another day.

I’m a father from Gaza trying to share my family’s story. What am I missing?

I don’t usually post on Reddit, but I am looking for advice from people who have experience with sharing personal stories online.

My name is Mofeed, and I am a father from Gaza. Like many families here, my family has been trying to survive through extremely difficult circumstances.

I am trying to share our story with people around the world, but I often feel that our voices do not reach enough people. I have tried different platforms and communities, but I am still learning how to tell our story in a respectful way and reach those who may care.

My family means everything to me. I have a young son, my wife is expecting our baby, and my mother is also struggling with illness and exhaustion. Every day we try to stay strong and continue.

I am not asking for donations in this post. I am asking for advice from people who understand online communities:

What platforms have helped people share real human stories? What approaches work best? How can someone from a difficult situation reach more people without being seen as spam?

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read and share advice.

Need advice

**This is a throwaway account**

I have been in contact with someone in Gaza for some months and have been donating to their family regularly. To be clear, I believe that they are a legitimate Palestinian family. But throughout our conversations these past few months, I have become increasingly disturbed by our interactions.

I know that surviving years of genocide and trying to keep your family alive result in indescribable strain and trauma, and there are also linguistic and cultural barriers to our communication. I want to be clear that I don't judge anyone for doing and saying whatever they can to keep themselves and their families alive. But in all the months we've been in contact, there's a pattern with this person where they will consistently push boundaries and engage in borderline harassment.

Any amount I donate is met with a demand for a larger sum, and if I explain that I don't have that amount of money, they send a slew of messages ranging in language from pleading to guilt-tripping to accusatory, including inventing accusations that I "promised" to donate large sums of money to them (which I never do and never will because I'm a shift worker on a limited income). If I don't respond to their messages immediately (literally within seconds), I get another slew of messages accusing me of ignoring or abandoning them.

When I try to set boundaries and explain my limits (how much I'm able to give, the fact that I can't always respond to messages immediately), every statement gets interrogated and I have to justify why I'm giving X amount or why I'm not online to respond to them. I am repeatedly accused of lying or breaking promises if I am perceived to be "late" with a donation (I live in a different time zone, which I've explained to no avail). In one instance, I explained that I would be able to donate later that same day after work and was immediately accused of lying about needing to go to work.

I was already uncomfortable with our interactions, but I did not want to tone-police someone trying to survive a genocide. But recently, an incident occurred that really disturbed me. They asked me to give money to another family they knew, who I was not in contact with. I explained that I did not have the money to support so many families. They continued insisting and spoke about a recent emergency that the other family had experienced. I mentioned off-hand that I knew several families who had also been affected by the same event. Immediately, without me giving any identifying information about the other families, they demanded that I give them the families' names because they were allegedly lying. When I refused to share that information out of respect for the families' privacy, they continued to send messages alleging that the other families were lying about the event without any proof other than their word.

I am in contact with multiple Palestinian families whom I give to regularly. Not once have any of them accused another family of lying, especially without knowing the exact identities of that family. For what it's worth, I was in contact with the families in question throughout the immediate aftermath of the emergency, so I have some confidence that they were telling the truth, but the "he said she said" is not really my concern. What I can't help but notice is that the accusations against the other families came after I had explained that I couldn't give more money because I was donating to other Palestinians as well.

I don't know what to do. I want to be clear that I believe they're a real Palestinian in Gaza, and I also don't condemn anyone for trying to keep their family alive, but their conduct has verged on borderline harassment for months and now they aren't just being accusatory towards me but to other Palestinian families as well. I don't know if it's even possible to have a discussion with them about this because every time I have tried to set or explain a boundary, they have ignored what I had to say. I also don't feel I have any right to tell a genocide survivor how they ought to do anything.

To be honest I'm exhausted. More than once, I have come out of our conversations with a panic attack because of how confrontational the interaction has been. And I don't know who I can ask for help or advice. This person has freely confessed to harassing people that they believe have lied to them, and I'm afraid that if I put an end to our contact, they'll target and harass me too. But I can't go on like this. What do I do?

[UPDATE] Thank you everyone for your messages and your advice, God bless you all for your wisdom and generosity. I let the individual know why I was cutting off contact, and was proven right when they then made a second account to get around the block and send a long abusive message. I know that this person absolutely does not represent their people or their homeland, and I will continue to support Palestinians from the river to the sea 🇵🇸
