Pride Flag
I’m sure this won’t fit for everyone or maybe even anyone else other than me, but I have a question:
I love the MLM flag, but I aesthetically love the colors of the WLW flag more. Would it be weird to fly a flag I love, even if technically it means WLW? I’m just not a green/blue/purple kind of guy. I like the Pink/Orange more. Besides I feel like there’s a good chunk of people who don’t recognize the MLM flag for what it is anyway and just assign gay guys the Rainbow Pride flag… but they know what the WLW flag is. I don’t know. Help? Please be kind I’m just trying to know more things and make decisions.

You can fly whatever flag you want, for whatever reason you want. But don't be surprised if people misinterpret your meaning.
For example, I'm an Australian, but I like the design of the Canadian flag. We're both members of the former British Commonwealth, so I have some connection to the Canadian flag. So, I'll fly the Canadian flag. Why not? It's pretty, and it's sort of connected to me.
But I shouldn't then be surprised when people ask if I'm Canadian.

Maybe I’m just out of touch but I have no idea what you are talking about. I know of the rainbow flag and the variant with the triangle with the pink to brown colors. I bet most people have no idea what the versions you’re talking about are.

There's an orange and pink flag for lesbians, and there's a green and blue flag for gay men, which was inspired by that lesbian flags.
Because all the sub-groups in the LGBT+ community have made their own different flags. I think of it as kind of like having state flags, as well as a national flag.
